Are any of you taking Adderal? All three of my kids take it for

ADD/ADHD but I have never heard of people with MS taking it. I

recently had the opportunity to speak with a psychiatrist whose has

MS and she told me she takes 10 mg of Adderal every morning. It

helps her with fatigue but mostly she takes it for mental clarity.

She says that her cognitive abilites have been effected by the MS and

that if she didn't take the Adderal, she won't be able to work. She

says she can tell when it wears off becuase she has a hard time

finding the right word, staying focused on

conversations/instructions. Does anyone here have any experience

with this drug or any other drug used for ADD/ADHD that has helped

with congitive abilities?

I know about Provigil, its for narcolepsey (sp). It was prescribed

to my son for ADD but did not really help. Did it hep your mental

clarity?

Provigil did help with mental clarity, and I understand it works better in adults than children for ADD. One thing that is nice is that it ramps up slowly and wears off slowly. The older ADD meds are notoriously bad for giving ups and downs--mood swings.
