Guest guest
I am trying. I am sorry...but this kind of downed me. I have two children three years old and one who is almost two. It isn't easy. I know you guys know that. I was abused as a child. I am learning to love myself. After you hear all your life you are stupid you are a failure. Turned over knee and yelled at because you show emotion. Darned if you do , Darned if you don't kind of thing. I have fought with this for well all my life. And then I went through almost losing my children to a mother in law who had mental illness (she didn't know what she was doing honestly I love her to pieces) and they choose almost to listen to her. A battle of getting a restraining order. We have since found piece with eachother (when she finally decided to stay with her pills and they added others). I have lost family in the last two years. I am dealing with a child who has Dandy Malformation and Hydrocephalus, constant throwing up. I have almost lost my child twice. I am trying to get and support my husband through school. I don't have all the time in the world to just sit down and research let alone rest. I am still learning to trust people. Gosh I thought I was doing pretty good. Money doesn't grow on trees....much of the money is going to my daughter's medical bills that medicaid won't cover one way or the other. Insurances are stopping me though I fight it with all I got. Doctors won't listen I have been to seventeen. I live In IDAHO...almost impossible state to get any doc to listen, but I am still trudging and trying with all I have, if not I wouldn't be here looking for those who understand it better than I. I have checked with the westcoast supporters all the doctors they have are listed in near by states, even though the support group is in Idaho, strange. I don't have the referral nor the money to venture on our own. We are already in debt to the electric company. And $30,000 school loans cause we have had to to get my husband through school. We are just barely holding on to our trailor house. I feed my daughter through pump every night. She just won't gain. I have three children who get sick real often *not saying you guys don't....Please I know there are others who have it worse then I out there...I am not trying to say poor me.* I say my poor children...I feel like I have a noose around my neck and my hands tied behind my back. I love my husband but yet he is so shy and timid...went through his own kind of abuse, emotional. His mom did everything for him....He is doing better but does not know how to fight for anyone. Come on if any of you have been abused tell me that it is that easy to snap out of it. Now just so you know..>I do feel like I can beat this. I do believe that a doctor if I find the right one can help. I do believe in miracles and most of all I believe in God. I do believe that things will get better. I have forgiven my father *but that doesn't mean the actions don't come back to haunt me from time to time...like flashbacks of being thrown at the wall* I have the greatest relationship with him since he found help. I feel lucky because many people don't ever have this closure. I have three beautiful children that God could ever give me. I generally believe life can be happy if we let it...but come on we all have troubles and we all need help from time to time. I don't understand the material I do try to study. I have read V. Book *which by the way was put in much simpiliar terms that I could comprehend and imagine I use to be an EMT* I have a husband who brings me tremoundous joy as well as sorrows but he is mine to share it with...and he doesn't hurt or emotionaly cut them down. He is sensitive to my feelings. He is not afraid to cry-to me that is important. And number one he agrees with me that God comes first then us and then our children. That way we are all in harmony. And he prays with me every night. I really believe this is the way to stay together. Those who pray together stay together. I will get through this but I need help to understand it...since about every article posted *with medical jargon and such* I can not comprehend nor follow. I can't seem to grasp things. Every once and a while yes I can when I reread and reread some more. It is such a frustrating feeling. But see this is where this family comes into play for me. Because so many of you put things in such simpliar terms for me. I appreciate the suggestions. Please believe me I am trying. After all my family is very important to me. God bless you all. And please don't be affended from my letter. I just well feel helpless and full of hope at the same time if that makes any sense...and it has been a wonderful outlet. Thanks again. Obvious exceptions to this are such things as pregnant females eating dirt. But remember, that is quite unusual as opposed to someone craving their morning coffee, chocolate, bread, etc., and those cravings are 'allergic reaction driven'. It is explained very well under the concept of physical chemical dependency... Guest guest
Geoff, Interesting theory. He was tested by the Naturopath by a machine which connected about 150 different prods that were put on the tips of the fingers. Each one represented a different food or element that you could be allergic to and he never showed any allergy to chocolate. I wouldn't know how reliable these tests would be but that is what it showed. Guest guest
That's probably a VEGA machine which is used here by naturopathic doctors also. It is at least as reliable as RAST testing which is the allergy testing usually done in labs. A lot easier to use and quicker too. However, not being allergic to chocolate doesn't negate the principle that tons of sugar isn't good for anyone, especially those with disease. The exception to this is Dr. Chiu who is allowed to eat as much chocolate as he likes Chris. >From: " Briarwood " <briarwood@...> > >Geoff, >Interesting theory. Guest guest
I am glad you told me this because on seeing that machine I was thinking how on earth could he identify an allergy when he didn't prick the skin to allow a minute amount of the substance into the bloodstream. You are right about being quicker. I had it done and it is painless too. LONG!!! THANKS very much for posting this information on mitochondrial disorders!!!!! A couple questions......I have severe exercise intolerance but no pain.....can that combination happen in mito disorders? Also I would guess that perhaps there are only a dozen or so places to get the fresh muscle biopsy done in the US. Is that correct? Or is this disease more frequently tested for than I thought. Also I heard that the muscle biopsies are extremely painful and that often surgeons don't use anesthesia for fear of damaging the muscle. Is this still true? Is mitoonelist the best list to sign up for or are there also other lists that you feel are good right now. The information was fascinating for many reasons. I've been hospitalized for drug reactions that one my doctors says is probably a liver mitochondrial problem. Why do they only test muscle? I assume they simply avoid having to do any organ biopsies that way? If there is a defect in the muscle is that separate from a mito defect in the liver? Thanks -E
Guest guest
Hi E........., I will try to answer what I can by inserting responses. > I have severe exercise intolerance but no pain.....can that combination happen in mito disorders? Absolutely! Climbing stairs is a favourite test and they like to take your heart rate and respirations at the top of the stairs! :-) > Also I would guess that perhaps there are only a dozen or so places to get the > fresh muscle biopsy done in the US. Is that correct? Or is this disease > more frequently tested for than I thought. I can tell you that in US ish Rite hospital in Atlanta (I think maybe it has changed its name recently and I can't remember what the new name is), Cleveland Clinic, and UCSD do fresh muscle biopsies routinely. Other centres do the biopsies, but make sure you are getting the FRESH tissue biopsy since other areas don't do the FRESH! As a Canadian, I had my fresh biopsy done in Vancouver, BC. I am reasonably sure that there will be biopsy ability in Toronto Ontario and Montreal Quebec and likely either Edmonton or Calgary Alberta (I'd guess Calgary!) Why FRESH rather than frozen ..... it is kind of like freezing an onion ..... the defrosted specimen doesn't have the stable cell walls so the onion doesn't act the same! Freezing alters the results in the Complex I testing of the mitochondria and the lab pulls the mitochondria out of the cells immediately and does certain tests within a certain time limit (don't ask me how long as I have no idea!). When they did the biopsy a courier was waiting with dry ice and the muscle pieces were put in a container on the ice and the courier was gone!!!!! > > > Also I heard that the muscle biopsies are extremely painful and that > often surgeons don't use anesthesia for fear of damaging the muscle. Is > this still true? Both times (frozen and then fresh) the biopsy was performed on my left bicep. Both times a local anaesthetic was used. I didn't feel anything, which surprised me because I have a problem with local anaesthesia " taking " ! I was given a prescription for Tylenol 3 with codeine and I flew in an airplane home. Honestly, the only real pain that I felt was in the middle of the night when nature called and I made the mistake of using my arm to push myself up!!! Poor decision .... but no damage done. I *do* have a high pain threshhold, though, I am told! Does it damage the tissue .... sorry, don't know! But you wouldn't catch me being that masochistic!! :-) Shivers at the thought of no anaesthesia ... but I guess I have had dental work done without!!!! > Is mitoonelist the best list to sign up for or are there also other lists that you feel are good right now. The mito list is the best general list .... doctors lurk and also contribute on occasion. Much of the talk is about children who are sick with mito, but there is also adult talk. There is another list called <mitochondrialonelist> and many Mito people are on both lists, and so .... my best bet recommendation is Mito List. I co moderate a list specifically for adult mitos or their spouses or caregivers. It is by invitation only .... and is for people over 40. We older folks tend to lurk in the other lists because many of the children are so very sick that we don't want to clutter the other lists with our stuff! If you are interested in joining, contact me privately with my email address as shown and I will get back to you as soon as possible! > The information was fascinating for many reasons. I've been hospitalized for drug > reactions that one my doctors says is probably a liver mitochondrial > problem. He is probably right!!!! Mitochondria are pretty sensitive little creatures!!!!! :-( > > > Why do they only test muscle? I said that Mito affects the systems which are the greatest consumers of energy ..... the muscles, the heart, and the brain. The muscles are readily available and are the least invasive choice. The super duper electron microscopes can detect many things and are the most reliably definitive test for mito, but not the only one to give a strong indication of mito! They don't however ONLY test muscle ..... there have been a number of cases where liver biopsies have been taken during another surgical procedure. They also do skin biopsies, although that is usually in cases where there has already been a family member diagnosed and they know where to go to look for defects. > I assume they simply avoid having to do any organ biopsies that way? That is correct. > If there is a defect in the muscle is that separate from a mito defect in the liver? Yes .... and no!!! The answer is complicated and I am not sure that I can do it justice, being a lay person ..... but .... simply ...... I said that mitochondria were sensitive critters ... well ... some get affected within a cell and some don't. Sometimes within a cell, the mitochondria proliferate (multiply) in order to try and keep up with the cell's need for energy. Essentially degree of system involvement is directly proportional to the ratio of affected to unaffected mitochondria within the cells of the system's tissues. Also the liver's function as the " cleaner " means that it may have to cope with greater (I'll use the word " toxic " ) byproducts of cellular respiration. This will give the liver more stress on its function, which will mean more energy is required ....... and so on. Liver cells have mitochondria too. As I said .... you have to think basic ... then cause and effect! It is basic but complicated, if you know what I mean. Jean
Guest guest
Hi everyone, Lenny hope this answers your question ). I don't have parasites moving around in me, but I have severe headaches, foggy memory, Leaky gut, abdominal pain, blood and mucus in the stool. Round warms are linked to foggy head. Tapeworms are linked to Leaky gut, abdominal pain, blood and or mucus in the stool. Keep in mind that pullutants and toxins can cause a foggy head wheather it be from parasites, legal or illegal drugs. Homozon has helped my situation, but I need a good parasite cleanse. Someone mentioned about black seeds with the para90. What kind of black seeds? Thanx in advance. Claude
Guest guest
Hi Claude, Sorry you do not have good health, I guess this is why we are searching for knowledge and truth. Back when I would use regularly 10 sectioned lemons, I had better results in eliminating roundworms. In the New KJV of Psalms 68:4, it shows The Name that is The Name of Life Energy, Yah, spelled yode=10 and he=5. These two patterns used to select food ensures the release of electrons from the chemical reaction to our bodies, resulting in an increase of energy, just like Hulda s, " Zapper " . Energy is what we need. With an overall increase of systemic energy, we have an improvement in every function of health. Since our bodies are controlled by nervous innervation, that is the brain controls the whole body, conscious and unconsciously through the nerves, then the logical conclusion would be that with overall electrical energy increases, that the brain can send a stronger impulse of electrical energy along the nerve, say, to our stomach, our pancreas, our liver, our adrenals, and to our peristalsis, giving our stomach more electricity power to produce more enzymes, more mechanical churning, etc. Energy is what we need. ATP is the energy currency of the body. The major componant in the blood platelets, thus the expression, " The Life is in the blood " " The blood is the life of all the flesh " . ATP is manufactured by the body, about 10 to 20% by " de novo " synthesis. I think this word " de novo " means original. In other words raw sythesis from components. ATP is recycled, which accounts for about 80% from recycling used ATP, which after use has transformed to ADP. This recycling occurs in each cell in the Mitochondria. You can read and learn about this process on the web, as it is well known knowledge. A nice web page on ATP is http://gened.emc.maricopa.edu/bio/bio181/BIOBK/BioBookATP.html Lenny escort7980@... wrote: > Hi everyone, > > Lenny hope this answers your question ). Guest guest
Hi Claude, I had painful bleeding and burning, several months ago. During the course of a month I drank about 6 bottles of American Health Acidophilus, 16 oz. Each tablespoon has about 10 billion friendlies. My health is much better now, as I can now use cayenne pepper, but didn't dare try before. Cayenne seems to be a good cleanser. Lenny ps I remember reading that wormseed is even more powerful than wormwood. But I have never seen it for sale by itself. escort7980@... wrote: > Hi everyone, > > Lenny hope this answers your question ). Guest guest
I'm a bit of a sleeping partner but just to let those who are concerned that at the UKSC on HV Education last Friday we received information from Maureen about some of the issues raised in these and earlier letters. I am sure she would be helpful to any lecturers or others requiring HV education information. We are very fortunate to have her support from within NMC. The UKSC will also respond to the NMC News and new Code omissions. What challenging times we're in! Good wishes to all e-mailers. Guest guest
For a lighter note and to show that some people come out okay: I was diagnosed in 1971 at the age of 8. I did not see a scoliosis specialist until approximately a year later. After seeing the specialist, I wore a Milwaukee brace for 2 years. In 1975, at the age of 12, I had one Harrington rod implantation with a fusion from T3-L3. I do not remember what my curves were - my mother kept track of everything but that! At the age of 30, I was diagnosed with severe degenerative disc disease of the lumbar spine below the fusion. Five years later, I was also diagnosed with this in the cervical spine. From time to time I will suffer with a pinched nerve in my neck. I went to physical therapy for awhile and got a TENS unit for pain. Last fall I went for physical therapy and got an expensive home traction unit for my neck. If I use this several times a week and continue with my neck exercises, I can usually keep the pain and pinched nerves resolved. Two years ago I was diagnosed with flatback syndrome but my case does not require revision surgery, at least, not at this time. By the time I was diagnosed I had trouble standing up straight - there was always a little bit of a forward lean. I also had lower back pain after standing for a few minutes, walking, bending over, etc., for several years. When I was diagnosed with flatback, the doctor gave me a corset to wear. It had two metal bars in the back, laces on the side that tighten, and snaps up the front. I wore this for approximately a year. I spoke with a chiropractor for whom I was doing transcription, and he told me that if I strengthened my back and stomach muscles, I wouldn't need the corset. That made sense to me. I started exercising just over a year ago every weekday morning doing low-impact aerobics and toning exercises for all my muscle groups. I haven't worn the corset since I started exercising. I can stand for about an hour without pain. Sitting in certain chairs or positions does cause pain at the tailbone when I try to shift or get up. But that seems to be the only constant pain I deal with now. The exercise has helped tremendously. I don't know what my future holds but so far I have made it with just the original surgery in 1975. When I joined this group I was in pain and seeking out people in similar situations. I have remained because I enjoy the information shared. I also stay because my 10-year-old daughter has scoliosis and will be facing surgery in the future. Just thought I would share my story. Guest guest
I ran across this recipe for Coconut Cleansing Cream at http://www.recipegoldmine.com/beautyskin/skin31.html Maybe it would be more spreadable especially if you don't refrigerate it. Coconut Cleansing Cream 3 tablespoons coconut oil 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon glycerin 2 teaspoons water Melt ingredients together over very low heat until liquid. Remove from heat. Beat as the mixture cools to emulsify. Store in an airtight jar and keep in the refrigerator since coconut oil has a very low melting point.
