Guest guest
Hi, Pam. I use a TENS machine and they are great! I had a C-Spine injury in 1989 with 7 herniated discs, and two surgeries. I have chronic pain--especially muscle spasms, and use the TENS when it gets really bad, and it works! I also use ice packs that I keep in the freezer, and a moist heating pad too. Plus a massage wand. And a " nobby " which looks like a doorknob that you lay on to do accupressure on yourself. That's how I cope with my muscle pain. Now I have chronic Epstein-Barr virus, and on day 7 of LDN. I started at 4.5mg, but after 5 days, the muscle pain was too great, so I went to 3 mg, and now I'm ok with it. Very little muscle pain, in fact, my overall pain level has dropped! My itchy rash no longer itches and it is fading. I am feeling more alert and sleeping less. I was sleeping 12 to 16 hours a day! So my advice is try a TENS and hang in there. It will help you--it's a good investment.---ette from CA --- In low dose naltrexone , AStyle1@a... wrote: > Please Help!! Guest guest
Ed, What would the TENS machine do for you?
Guest guest
Ed, go to a physical therapist and use one there, plus it will be used in the right way by knowledgeable professionals. TENS really helped my back - for awhile. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Hello Ed, it's Teri from PA. I work in a chiropractors office and we sell the TENS units. So far we have sold them to patients that their insurance has covered. If you are interested in any additional information please let me know and I will see what I can do for you. So far no out of pocket cost for the patient. Teri
Guest guest
My experience with a TENS was that it helped with chronic pain. I am not sure if it would be effective with the vagaries of neuropathic pain. I would rent one first to see if it works for you. Me, I use a cocktail of Lyrica, Lexapro, and a CPAP machine to keep the serotonin levels in my brain high enough to mask the pain. I haven't had recurrent pain for over a year when it started again about a month ago. My rehab doctor upped my dose of Lexapro from 10 mg to 20 mg per day yesterday. I started the increased dose today, so the jury is still out on the efficacy of the treatment. --Larry
