Guest guest
I have PLS and this is my 16th day on 1.5mg of LDN. I am sleeping lighter than before LDN, wake up off and on, but its OK. The large increase in tightness in legs, stomach and back plus increase in spasms and muscle knots have me worried. There is no improvement in any thing!!!! My main symptoms are spasticity and muscle tightness which have gotten worse.....I'm very depressed!!....I don't know if LDN is right for me!!! need some help and/or suggestions.....Thanks PS maybe my PLS is getting worse fast....and the LDN is not the cause??? It is a sign that your Beta-endorphins are rising. Dr. Bob Lawrence in the UK who has MS himself tells his patients that they can experience increased symptoms in the early stages of LDN treatment. When this starts to happen, people get scared and come off the LDN treatment saying IT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME!! I do recommend this for your spastic/drawn muscles. Go to Wal-Mart or Target and get you one of these...... HoMedics Therapist Select Shiatsu Massager, Model No. SM-100 Walmart.com - HoMedics Therapist Select Shiatsu Massager, Model No. SM-100 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=1812232 & sourceid=150000000\ \0000000147550 I recommend you investing in this massager. It's a lifesaver to anyone with spastic/drawn muscles who do not have access to pool therapy. Pool therapy is great for stretching spastic muscles if you have access to one. After you start getting those achey spastic muscles loosened up, increase your LDN dose to 2.0mg, then up to at least 3.0mg if your body can handle that dosage. If you can tolerate more, then increase to the recommended highest dose. If 4.5mg is too much for you or you don't do as well on 4.5mg, back down to a level that you do well on. Guest guest
Maybe as some of us with m.s. have found out there are advantages to adjusting your dose. It would be best to ask Dr. Bahari of course but failing that I would increase the dose by twice as much at least temporarily until you find a "happy" amount for you! From what I have read there is no way ldn.can make your symptoms worsen except for initially when the repair process starts . You may have to adjust down too, ......as far as I can see treatment with ldn. is a guessing game with any disease, and what is the right amount for others isn't necessarily right for you. The only true thing is that it has to be compounded correctly ( first hand experience here) and has to be taken within the correct time frame (at least for me).
