I know there are greenish purple peppers but have not grown any... do you know the scientific name to look it up?

Greetings,I bought a small red lantern pepper plant some weeks ago. It had just a fewblossoms on it then and now it has five small peppers and two new blossoms.I notice that one of the peppers is turning a bit purplish and is growinglarger. I've never grown any vegetables, unfortunately, and don't knowanything at all about peppers. When is it ready for picking? Does it ripenon the vine?Regards, Holly

Good question! I just did a search. Wow, so many varieties. I am not sure

but I think it is Capsicum chinense - a cousin to the Habaneros perhaps? -

since Habaneros is also Capsicum chinense. I think my peppers have a way to

go until maturity.

Nice pepper link:
