Guest guest
Hi All ... I took PTCE this afternoon. About 1/3 of my exam was math but my math problems were not as complicated as I anticipated. Most were dosage calculations and kg/mg. I only had one IV flow rate problem and a few percentage markups on medication. It helps quite a bit to know your drugs and what they're used for. I had quite a few questions about that. I also had some brand/generic questions but not a tremendous amount. My favorite questions were the no-brainers. Such as how far to work inside LAFH .... which, by the way, was my favorite question of the exam! ;-) I was caught off-guard by a few questions about things I had absolutely no knowledge of. At first I was thinking " oh cr*p " ! But I didn't panic ... I just carefully read the question, tried to decipher what the term or situation was and do my best by process of elimination to find what seemed to be the best answer. One lady waiting to take exam told me she took a Xanax before coming to the exam and said she almost threw up this morning. I laughed and was thinking the only thing I had at home was some ibuprofen but that certainly wouldn't have helped much! LOL I didn't see the need to get totally stressed out beforehand. I took a few deep breaths and told myself " I can do this " and put trust in my judgement and knowledge. Even though there were some questions that I'm sure I got wrong because I didn't know what they were asking about, I'm pretty confident that I passed. The info said I should know online by Friday 12/12 if I passed. I'm relieved it's over. Whew. Thanks to everyone here for your help. I will still remain as active as I can with the group. I know even though I may have passed PTCB there will always be more to learn !
Guest guest
Zaldamo, Thank you for sharing with us. Some thing you wrote that I am happy to know is that you had several pharmacology questions that were in addition to trade and generic questions. Glad to hear this. Glad to hear you will be staying on the site! I look forward to your inpt. Please keep us posted on your passing of the exam.
