Guest guest
Hi logey ... I'm taking PTCB in a matter of HOURS and I'm doing some last minute studying this morning. Here is how I would solve the problem. My brain is a bit fried as well ... hopefully I'm right! :-) 1:250 means 1 gram in 250 ml 1/2 L = 500 ml So you first set the problem up as ratio/proportion 1gram/250ml = X grams/500ml X = 2 2 grams needed for 500 ml Next convert grams to milligrams 2 grams x 1000 = 2000 mg Next divide total milligrams needed for 500 ml by how many milligrams per tablet 2000mg/100mg per tab = 20 Answer: 20 Tablets Good luck on your exam! > From: logey03 <logey03@...> > Subject: Math help! > > Date: Monday, December 1, 2008, 7:22 AM > > I've been studying like crazy to take my test here in > the next week, > seems as all I've done is study! and now my brain is > fried for some > reason I just can't think of how to set this problem > up! Guest guest
Not sure if it's right but here's what I did. Solve for the # of milligrams in 1/2L (500ml) of 1g:250ml solution 1g=1000mg 1000mg/250ml=4mg/ml 4mg/ml*500ml=2000mg 2000mg/100mg/tab=20tabs so 20tabs is my answer. hope that helps > > I've been studying like crazy to take my test here in the next week, > seems as all I've done is study! and now my brain is fried for some > reason I just can't think of how to set this problem up! Guest guest
Dear Logey, Glad you were able to learn from willplayforfood and Zaldamo. I am particularly grateful for your posted appreciation to them. Please read my previous post! NO such thing as a stupid or dumb question. Therefore do not feel dumb! Brain cramps are a side effect of over study! And if you are just beginning your journey then your question is VERY much on target!
