Guest guest
Friday, What happy news to read your 7 day report! Keep posting them. Or maybe everyone on this board should try to keep a journal and post periodically so we can all see what unique and similar benefits each is gleaning from the naltrexone. I have two friends with MS. You all know Sam (Redtruck) from her survey site. My other friend is in Santa Fe, NM. I have passed on the links to this site and all the other info I have gathered regarding LDN and MS for him to read. He is on Copaxone now. I don't that much about that med but I believe I have heard that , like LDN, it is what some docs might call "fringe medicine"? Anyway, after reading your journal I am sending a copy to him. He has an excellent neuro in New Mexico, who is in fact, one of the contracted researchers for the National MS Society. He is hopefully going to drop the LDN info in this doc's lap- maybe there are back doors into the MS Society and other Disease-oriented organizations? If enough people shout it from the mountaintops someone is bound to listen. We have to get the word out about this wonderful medicine! I am truly happy to hear your reports of improvement. My AI disease, while endocrine based, also affected my hair, skin and nails. I never had acne as a teen but now have horrible scars from cystic eruptions over the last 18 months. I can hide it pretty well under a bit of concealer but not every month. My nails and hair got so dry and brittle that I cut my long hair off into a short pixie cut- I actully like it better short anyway. As for the nails, I keep them trimmed as well. Has any naturopath ever showed any of you how to measure your wellness-level by looking at mineral uptake? It is quite easy to do. Look down at your fingers, directly at the nail bed. How many "moons" can you count? There should be pronounced semi-circles at the base of each nail bed. When I was first diagnosed and my hormones were horribly out of whack I had no moons at all- and white streaks in my nails. Those are markers that you are deficient in zinc and magnesium. Since initiating some vit/min therapy (and getting rid of my diseased thyroid gland) I have noticed some changes. My hair is softer again. My nails have moons again. I only have six very prominent moons- the ring finger and pinkie are still showing evidence of a minor defficiency. Ironically those are the two fingers that are usually numb or all pins-and-needles when I wake up in the middle of the night. It will still take some time to undue the damage. By the way, there are some folks out there that believe nutritional deficiencies may be the real root of most AI disease. There is one "fringee" who has treated his Grave's Hyperthyroidism with nutrition and anti-thyroid drugs alone. He believes that globalization is partly to blame for the boom in AI diseases, including things like MS. His theory is genetically-based. For example, your mother and father grew up in an area where the soil was rich in copper. You inherit a genetic marker from their gene mutations that tells your body "no need to work too hard for copper because its there". Then you grow up and move hundreds or even thousands of miles away to an area with copper deficient soil. You develop a thyroid disease from the copper deficiency because you are genetically predisposed to not having a good uptake response for that mineral. It is a reach, I must admit. But there is also some truth in it since we know that both genetics, and environmental pollutants, as well as stress, can trigger auto immunity. Moving on... Since adding extra zinc, copper, magnesium and potassium to my diet I have started to see some real improvements. I also take extra calcium since I am missing one parathyroid gland and brittle bones go hand in hand with hypothyroidism. (so does high cholesterol!) My skin, however, has not really improved a lot. I am hoping the LDN and a good dermatologist can help me. For any of you who have bad scars or age lines that you would like to get rid of: There is a product on the market called Kinerase Cream. You can order it online from Dermadoctor.com. It is a bit pricey but a little bit goes a long way. And the active ingredient in the formula is a natural botanical growth hormone, called N-furfuryladenine. It is the chemical messenger that tells a tree to keep its leaves green, that it is not time to go dormant, but to grow. Without it, a plant would constantly shed its leaves or die. I have been using the cream for the last year. While the acne and cysts still appear, some of my scarring and wrinkles are gone! If anyone wants more info about it feel free to email me directly. I am 36 years old and actually got carded last month while I was out buying wine for my family's Passover meal! (maybe it was just the zits that made them want to card me?) Keep sending in your reports!
