Sooo ok I read all through the letter and this question comes to mind.... If pain medication counters the effects of ldn.then the reason I am having trouble keeping the good sideeffects comming is because I am not afraid to take Tylenol 3 as it works when my knees ache. (degenerative osteoarthritis)And when it gets real bad ,like before a storm,I am not afraid to smoke a J. So what can I do when I hurt so much I want to cry?

Does ldn. use mean live with your pain? Or is it a juggling act? When I can't even stand to drink Alcohol anymore since ldn.I am running out of options.

I do have pain, but I also have a high threshold and don't take Will the naltrexone block the effectiveness of an opioid-> based pain medication? Would it be best to get all of that kind of > medication out of my system before commencing the LDN therapy? Did I > actually hear someone mention that any residual opioid-like compounds > in the bloodstream might actually decrease the effectiveness of LDN?

You can take anything except opium based drugs. No narcotics, yes to everything else.

There was an excellent post on this issue a while ago. Too bad I can't find it in my saved stuff. It described the length of time it takes your body to clear out the LDN, the efficacy of opium based drugs while using LDN, and I (correctly or not...) remember the conclusion being the opium based drugs would have their effectiveness reduced by a very insignificant amount. I was concerned about the issue in the event of trauma, like a car wreck, that would cause me to need immediate relief for severe pain. Since I was not concerned about the occasional use of codeine or it's brothers for once in a while pain relief I don't remember any more than that. I don't remember if it discussed the occasional opiates interfering with the LDN/endorphin burst action. Maybe someone has this info filed and can share?

And while I was looking through my saved mail I realized we haven't seen anything from Nolan in a long time. Anyone know if he's OK??
