Being unhappy about that stupid article's claim that we are satisfied with

our quality of life does not equate with feeling sorry for ourselves, nor

does it mean we do not count our blessings. MS has a detrimental effect on

our quality of life, period. That we have been able to overcome a lot of

issues and find strengths of which we were unaware simply means that we have

to desire to live and be happy, and the ability to adapt.

No one who is not wearing our shoes or slippers has the right to tell us to

look on the bright side. We all spend a great deal of effort doing just

exactly that or we wouldn't get out of bed in the morning. No one has the

right to minimize someone else's disability+ADs- they are not living it. I

think that is why that article made me so angry. I understand what this

disease is costing me. No one has the right to publicly minimalize the

effects of it. The article could instead have applauded the courage and

adaptability of all victims of degenerative diseases, but it wasn't written

that way.
