Guest guest
Hi Dr. D., Since I am trying to figure out this SomaLife thing too, like everyone else, I'm wondering if I'm reading correctly, the following abstract or whatever it is from your site, pasted below. I am not diagnosed diabetic, but I'm 100+ lbs. overweight, and totally insulin and leptin resistant. In considering taking Somalife or any amino acid stack, I found it a bit disturbing that it reads as though taking amino acids jacks up ones insulin levels - significantly. This is a bad thing for those of us fighting resistance. Can you shed some light? -vanessa http://members.shaw.ca/SomaLife-gHP/HGH_deficiency_medline.html Diabetes Care. 2003 Mar;26(3):625-30. PMID: 12610012 [PubMed - in process] Amino Acid ingestion strongly enhances insulin secretion in patients with long-term type 2 diabetes. .... bunch of names snipped CONCLUSIONS-The insulin secretory capacity in long-term type 2 diabetic patients is substantially underestimated, as the insulin response following carbohydrate intake can be nearly tripled by coingestion of a free amino acid/protein mixture. Future research should be performed to investigate whether such nutritional interventions can improve postprandial glucose disposal.
