Guest guest
Arms asleep man can I relate it used to be real bad and then changed to a burning on my left arm and then side, this got so bad that even air blowing over my skin was painful,I had to quit work as I couldn't even think straight. Then it all changed the day after I started Ldn now I only get a noticeable difference in skin temp on my left arm verses my right, thankfully the burning has left and along with it it took my optic neuritis or that grey spot in the center of my left field of vision. Are you getting a pins and needles feeling like lots of us got at the first onset of this lovely disease? I used to confuse that with the stiffness that most encounter on ldn. I used a very mild over the counter sleep aid every other night for about two months with great results then tried Melatonin but found that nothing was happening for me on it, at least not immediately. First 3 weeks were hard falling asleep. Took lorazapam (not sure of spelling) which I had been rxed years back for the once every 2 months or so I had insomnia. Took it 10 or 12 times with LDN and worked great. After first 3 weeks I sleep better than every before. Have not needed a sleeping aid once since. If I need help again I will try melatonin out of curiosity. For years I have tended to end up sleeping with my arms over my head. It seems if I don't (I don't start out that way but often end up that way) my hands seem to "fall asleep". Often wondered why, and noticed a couple of posts mentioning similiar stuff (hands falling asleep). Anyone else? Any thoughts? Just always struck me as odd, not considered a priority by my Family Doc. Could it be some kind of MS indicator, symptom, poor circulation, or just a quirk?ThanksAlan ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
Guest guest
The arms asleep thing is a pins and needles feeling that goes back many years. I was diagnosed with RRMS in Feb. 04 after real bad ON in left eye. Still like looking through wax paper but about 80% back (hasn't improved for weeks now). I did post a while back asking details about the leg tightness. Initially I had none but shortly after LDN I had and have tightness that goes from below my knees to the tops of my feet on the outsides of my legs. Sometimes it feels like I have a bit less control of my legs but so far that has just been a feeling with no effect on balance or walking The other major symptom I believe to be MS related is a tightness and a bit of numbness that goes from the right center of my back and wraps around on and below my rib cage to the front right. The tightness is particularly pronounced just below my ribs on the right but comes and goes. This is about 4 years old and was originally numb and then tingly (almost my entire right side below my shoulder blades in back to above my waist in front. Thought to be muscular or dis;ocated ribs (my first and 10th ribs were also thought to be dislocated by a Chiro I trust) so never diagnosed as MS. Also thought to be golf related as I was learning to play at the time. One of the Neuros I have seen immediately called it " banding " and said he was fairly sure it was my first major attack, with the ON in Feb being the second. Guest guest
I don't sleep with my hands over my head anymore, but slept that way for many years. If I nap on the recliner chair I always have my hands above my head, and tend to sit with my fingers laced behind my head when talking or watching TV. I wonder what that's all about... ----- Original Message ----- From: " alanms1579 " <alanms@...> <low dose naltrexone > Sent: Monday, May 31, 2004 8:45 PM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] LDN, Sleep, pills and sleeping with hands overhead > Passed the 60 day mark on LDN @ 4.5mg.
