Guest guest
FAILED! No worries. I planned to take the first exam as an orientation to see what it was like... now I know what to expect and I'm sure I'll ace it the next go around. Good luck to everyone! Guest guest
Hi. I took the exam cold turkey and I only study for about two weeks. There were a lot of math and drugs questions on my test, which is my weakest area. Ive since been focused on those areas, and feel confident that i will pass when i re-take the exam... In about 3 months or so. Re: I took the PTCB today and.... Dear meeknatkins, I thought I had posted to this post. I apologize as my response sat in my 'draft box' I did not press 'send' as I thought I had. I am glad that you can see the positive in this outcome. Not sure if you had studied or if you took it 'cold'. Can you expound upon this? How much time will you give yourself to study and then take the exxam? will you go by 'time' or 'readiness/knowledge gained'? Thank you for sharing this, I believe it may helps some people who have studied taken the exam, failed and will need to take it again. The POSITIVE attitude goes a long way in accepting and moving on. It makes study easier and also 'fun'. Good luck, please keep me/us posted. Guest guest
Dear meeknatkins, Thank you for sharing with us. Feed back from those who took the test is always welcomed. I also should have asked you if you are currently working as a tech or if you are not working as a tech. And what state are you in? FYI:There are some states that do not require CPhT. There are a few states that allow both and CPhT's, where the CPhT's have more responsibility and slightly more pay. Guest guest
I've worked as a tech part-time for CVS and Walmart. I am currently a Federal government employee, and a pre-pharm major. I plan on applying for positions with Veteran Affairs or Walter , here in Washington, D.C. I would like to obtain my national cert, as it is a requirement in my area. Ultimately, my goal is to apply to University and University of land school of pharmacy for acceptance:-) ________________________________ From: Jeanetta Mastron <rxjm2002@...> Sent: Thu, May 19, 2011 2:02:32 PM Subject: Re: I took the PTCB today and.... Guest guest
Dear Meek Atkins ,  If you are somewhat experienced and you went in cold turkey this sounds about right. Why? because you probably need to brush up on federal laws, IV math or pharmacolgoy.  So I would say this is about right.   Hoping you will do much better with study about 3 months of 20 hours per week study.   Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner From: Meek Atkins <meeknatkins@...> Subject: Re: Re: I took the PTCB today and....
