Yes Karin, you can as long as the state (regs) has not said otherwise.

IF Wa requires PTCB certification then it just may require proof of renewal to

show you have the CE's. Read the law carefully and check with your state

professional technician association(s).

More than likely they will accept the same CE's and or accept proof of renewal

and let PTCB figure out (do the work) if your CE's are valid.

Keep us posted,

Any one else in WA KNOW for SURE?

Karin if you can post the exact law I can interpret it for you.

Dear Karin,

Written without specifics since the state can determine whatever method it needs

to.

I believe this will be expounded upon with more and more technicians calling and

emailing their state board for answers. I think your state profession orgs will

come out with a formal statement as well.

But I would bet my bottom last dollar that WA will require proof of PTCB renewal

which will by all rights mean you have sent in your CE's and PTCB has accepted

them by reviewing titles etc, or by auditing you

thereby allowing WA to accept your current PTCB status as meaning that you are

keeping up your CE.

CA on the other hand at this time does not require CE. The keeping of one's PTCB

current requires such. One's employer may require active PTCB certification.

This is why so many CA techs are PTCB certified, because their employer requires

it.

But if WA state board of pharmacy is going to require CE and they also require

PTCB then proof of such is proof that your PTCB CE requirement has been met and

therefore the WA requirement would be met.

Any one else have any WA information?

I'll keep my eyes and ears open on this topic.
