Guest guest
Karin, I either had an exacerbation or a case of the flu. Low temp, very weak legs, on and off again nausea. It all lasted for two or three weeks, and my legs have been much weaker since. I still take LDN. If it was an exacerbation I was probably headed that way anyway. It was the time of year that I have had previous episodes. And the LDN helps my bladder issues so much I'm willing to take it just for that while still hoping it will prevent future relapses. ----- Original Message ----- From: Karin Kolln low dose naltrexone Sent: Saturday, May 29, 2004 6:00 PM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] any new exacerbation? Guest guest
, I've now been on LDN for five months, and spring/summer is usually when I have an exacerbation...so far, not even the hint of one...I know I haven't been on it for a really long time, but I'm pretty convinced! There are ups and downs on LDN, but I have found that after a down, I usually return to above where I had been before the down. Pam
Guest guest
Hi Karin, I've been on LDN for 4 months and I had a drop foot 2-3 weeks ago (something I've never had before), and I believe it was an exacerbation. I feel much better and stronger now. Guest guest
Karin I will respond for both my brother(who is unable to use a computer in the nursing home.) and myself. I personally haven't had a relapse as PPMSers only have worse days than before,I guess that is all It can be! But anyway yesterday the 28 of May my brother who is also PPMS was not doing well at all. He couldn't even hold his head up while sitting in his wheel chair and the vacant look in his eyes and his demeanor told the whole story, Now he has been on 3.0mgs of LDN for six months now and was doing real good so this was quite hard to take, seeing him like this. However today the 29 he is all right and even feeding himself, I hear now that a bad flue was going around the hospital and in that setting you will catch it! However he was only down for the count for twenty-four hours, now in the last six months that is the first sign of a setback and it scared me and I was about to come unglued but now I can say that thanks to the LDN he was better off than others in that setting! So if that could count as a positive for LDN use in our system then I want to go down on record. Yes using LDN Is not going to hurt you but it could cut down on sick days from life. Meaning more good health days less Dr. visits and of course, cost to the health care system. I honestly think the nurses up there thought he never even caught the flue as he recovered at least five days sooner than the other patients around him! And for what it is worth I haven't been sick at all this winter, this is a new one for me too. No I won't ever quit taking LDN even if I was cured of MS as there are far too many good things happening with it and I know the 3.0mgs I take don't cause any problems with me in any way.
