Guest guest
I still differ with 'training program' which really should read " formal educational and training program " . Guest guest
Does section (2) © require an associate's degree *and* a certificate course approved by the ASHSP? Or is it optional between the two (in other words *or*, not *and*)? If both would be required, I'm sunk because I can't afford an associate's degree in terms of time or money. best regards to all, b3z > > > This is only a part of the entire bill, but I think this is what > everyone was wondering about: > > > > (1) the State prohibits an individual from performing the duties of a > pharmaceutical technician in such State unless the individual is > registered by the State Board of Pharmacy to perform such duties; and > > > (2) as minimum requirements for such registration, the State requires > the individual— > > > (A) to have attained a secondary school diploma or its recognized > equivalent; > ( to be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board; > and > © to have— > (i) attained an associate's degree in pharmacy technology; > (ii) completed a course of training for pharmaceutical > technicians accredited by the American Society of Health-System > Pharmacists; or > (iii) graduated from a school of pharmacy recognized by the > State Board of Pharmacy. > © ANNUAL REPORTING ON PHARMACEUTICAL TECHNICIAN ERRORS.—As a > condition on the receipt of a grant under this section, a State shall > agree to submit an annual report to the Secretary of Health and Human > Services on pharmaceutical technician errors in the State. > > (d) TRANSITIONAL PERIOD FOR PRACTICING TECHNICIANS.—A State > receiving a grant under this section may provide a transitional period > for individuals who began practicing as pharmaceutical technicians > before the date of the enactment of this section to comply with the > requirements of the registration program under this section. > > > > >
Guest guest
It would be optional at this point in time. But that is as long as no other amendments are made. Jeanetta I doubt the AA or AS req will be before 2015 b3zdomny <b3zdomny@...> wrote: Does section (2) © require an associate's degree *and* a certificate course approved by the ASHSP? Guest guest
As one of the educational options would be completion of an ASHP-accredited programs, I thought it might be helpful to post a link to ASHP's accredited-school directory: http://www.ashp.org/s_ashp/technician_index.asp best regards to all (and happy Friday!) b3z > > > This is only a part of the entire bill, but I think this is what > everyone was wondering about: > > > > (1) the State prohibits an individual from performing the duties of a > pharmaceutical technician in such State unless the individual is > registered by the State Board of Pharmacy to perform such duties; and > > > (2) as minimum requirements for such registration, the State requires > the individual— > > > (A) to have attained a secondary school diploma or its recognized > equivalent; > ( to be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board; > and > © to have— > (i) attained an associate's degree in pharmacy technology; > (ii) completed a course of training for pharmaceutical > technicians accredited by the American Society of Health-System > Pharmacists; or > (iii) graduated from a school of pharmacy recognized by the > State Board of Pharmacy. > > > > >
