Guest guest
First of all Mr. Mark Greenwald, I am very honored that you would post this on my little old site! I am also very shocked! How ever did you find it? How were you made aware of this site? Curiosity killed the cat It is very kind of you to post this opening on my site. There are many techs who have been steadfast members from the inception of the site who are techs and others who have stayed on after their initial cert study. many people behind the scenes who do not regularly post but read the posts or continue the eduction. There are many educators here too who have students use the site. I am wishing you the best in your search for educators. I have not been able yet to take a moment to take a look at your site/school. Is the program a full pharm tech course or is it solely to prepare for the PTCB exam? Are there hands on mock labs? Is there an on the job or externship component to this course? I will also pass this along to my educator's group as they may know someone who may want to become an educator who lives in these areas. Will future sites include outside of your state of Illinois? or do you mean solely with in Illinois? Thank you again, I am sure all the CPhT 's appreciate it! Good luck! Guest guest
Actually, I found your site through the links on the PTCB web site. Our PTCB self study site was one of the first PTCB preparation links listed on the PTCB web site. It remained there for several years, but then the links section turned to schools, and our self study site got bumped along with many others. Presumably many of the PTCB Board members are from schools now, and that may be one of the reasons the self-study sites were removed..... I am very happy to post the opening on your site! I have been very impressed by the quality of many of your members comments, and their own qualifications. Our classes prepare students to enter the pharmacy technician job force, and also take the PTCB examination if they desire. We HIGHLY recommend our students take the exam, and they routinely have a mid 90% first try pass rate on the exam. The State of Indiana Board of Pharmacy has approved our class, meaning graduates of our course have fulfilled the education requirements of the Board. Students in Indiana are not required to pass the PTCB examination if they have a certificate of completion from our course. We do not currently have labs or externship in the basic curriculum. Although, at $599.00 the course is affordable for most any student. I do have plans to add an extended program where externship in both retail and sterile product preparation would be included. One step at a time.... We are currently scheduling classes in Illinois and Indiana, and I do have plans for more states in the future. Thank you for posting our job openings, and let me know what you think once you can get a chance to review our school web site. Guest guest
Sorry about being so quick! : ) I just happened to be checking my email and I saw it. I did take a look at his website and one of the classes is about 10 minutes from where I work. I have sent him an email and he responded by saying either he or his assistant will be in contact with me. I attached his email to this group so he would know how I found out. I have not had the pleasure of meeting you at a convention, but I have posted here before. I have not taught before, but my sister is currently teaching a medical assisting class and I was a guest speaker when they covered the pharmacy part of the module. So I guess you can say I caught the teaching bug from her! The other teaching experience I have is from work. I will definitely keep you in mind when it comes to teaching this class. Guest guest
Dear Mark, I still have not had a chance to visit your site. As you can see I have had my hands full answering the deluge of posts. But I will get there. I am sorry that the link was removed, but most likely it is due to the stance on education per ASHP guidelines not test prep. However I am sure you are doing a fine job of test prep or you would not be seeking someone with 3 yrs of experience and 2 as a CPhT! I know PTCB has been watching my site for a very long time. I am monitored and I don't blame them at all. They would not allow my link if I post questions and answers to the test. I pretty much believe in teaching someone what they do not understand rather than say this is the answer now memorize it. I also do not post exact questions from th exam. They are however exam-like. It has many hits as well. I do miss the message board that they had. Perhaps they use my site to keep a pulse on tech topics of discussion. But I am grateful that they have kept the link because I do not advertise. Many come to this site via search, the PTCB link and also word of mouth. I would say more from PTCB link than anything. My educators site is for those who teach a full curriculum with labs. As you know ACPE is getting involved with education again and much is going that way. However IF I can help you in any way or if you would like to give my name and email to your instructors to email me privately if they need any help or guidance, mentoring or?? feel free. I am a Level I, with a Level II pending board review/approval certified Adult Vocational Educator. This is a credential in state of California. The next level of credential for instructors to Adult Learners would be for director. I practice as a director/educator. I do not need the credential for directorship but it wouldn't hurt. I atteneded USD satelite school/classes over the last 5 yrs. So I can also teach teachers. Wishing you well on your employee hunt and expansion. If I can help YOU in any way please let me know. Guest guest
Dear Mark, For some reason your email link did not show completely. Actually it is s way of protecting members. But you can always check the site to see how it showed if you ever post job openings again (feel free as often as you need to recruit teachers for employment, however if you wish to advertise the course you may do so up to three times a year). if it does not show up right it usually shows everything before the " @ " sign . So it would have looked like: founder@...... so what I do is type founder@pharmacytrainer .com which has a space before the period/dot. So if the person wants to email you they would copy and paste and move the decimal over as they would see the error. On the other hand sometimes the email shows up! I think if you do not press enter after you type the email address, meaning the addy does not highlight in blue, it will show up correctly and in full. Any way I posted your email addy again. Hope this helps and thank you for letting me know how you found the site. I am amazed! And very honored at your presence and that you find the techs and students on this site intelligent and asking great questions. I do hope to hear from you soon that you are setting up lab and externships. If I can help you in any way please let me know.
