First of all Carol if I was seeing the chiropractor for 25 yrs I'd fire him if he hasn't healed you yet. I made the mistake of seeing a country wide known expert in with the " activator " type method. Some of the method works, I found the methods cold and impersonal along with their mechanical " massage " table, and the office girls using the electric sander machine vibrator for area massage. Kicked me out when the insurance money ran out. I still have problems which were never corrected. I heard there is a woman chiropractor in Manitoba Canada who will fix you right up in a visit or two. I'm not ever again going to see some insurance milking quack. Guess I'd prefer the old fasioned " hands on " method of healing over the cold impersonal stuff which doesn't seem to work. -
Guest guest
I've been going to my chiropractor (Toftness method) for about 15 years now. I consider myself well and long healed, but I go once a month for maintenance. If I skip several months I get back out of alignment and it takes more intensive visits to get back in again. Easier just to go once a month for 10 minutes or so. And once a month on the other two weeks (every two weeks one and every two weeks the other) I visit my "magic lady," who does Reiki, shiatsu, breathwork, energy-work....she reads my pulses Auyrvedic (sp?) style and then does whatever is necessary to "tune me up." Haven't seen an allopathic doctor in more than 20 years.... Sharyn From: ok_fine@... Guest guest
, My back problem can't be fixed - a compression fracture is when one of the vertebra gets squished - and there's no fixing that. It happened when I fell off a ladder and landed on a concrete floor on my rear end from 10' up. Maybe surgery could rebuild it, but that's not something I care to get into unless absolutely necessary, and so far it isn't. Surgery so close to my spinal column is not anything I would be happy about. Going to the chiro once a month is maintenance for me - keeps my toe, foot, etc. from going to sleep. Guest guest
Well, it's reversed for me. The family chiro's office in , MI that I found is as warm and friendly as can be, and though I haven't been able to afford to go for almost a year, they still know me and call once in a while to see how my baby's doing. They, like the " regular " chiro, did tell me I had to keep coming, at least once a week, for as long as I chose to spend most of my time in a bad chair in front of a computer. Sometimes they're ripping you off, sure--for instance, the " regular " chiro who didn't help me at all after three visits and still wanted me to come back--and sometimes your muscular-skeletal system, like your diet, needs regular maintenance. It depends on what you do. $0.02, -S >Aparently " the mileage may vary " .
