Climbing onto a rebounder would be a disaster. I > haven't been able to " rebound " for years. I could not balance or stand to do exercises when I started physical therapy Aug 2003. My right leg was half paralyzed, I was just dragging it around with cane support, could not get my toe to lift at all, so walking was really risky and I fell lots. I started in bed with an electronic thing called Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) Device. You put electrodes on the nerve/muscle trigger points, and it makes the muscle contract. You try to contract at the same time, and it makes the muscles stronger. It is tricky to find these points, and I think you need to do this with a therapist to get going, but it really helped me recover some function, and " wake up " the nerves from their dis-use. Here is the device I got thru insurance: http://empi.com/products/nmes.cfm But I have looked on the net and there are cheaper ones around $150. You've got to start small and build up to the bigger exercises. Water exercise is also good, and most local MS chapers make an effort to help with transport and assistance to do pool work.
