Dear Ms.Jeanetta,

I am happy that you find time to keep track of my progress. It makes

me feel good.

As English is my second language, sometimes what I am trying to

express and what I end up writing may be two different things. But I

try my best. Right now I feel like an old dog trying to learn new tricks.

I will have to travel to mainland USA to take the PTCB exam. As I have

an undergraduation degree from outside USA I want to find out from

PTCB.org what I need to do to get my application accepted in order to

take the exam. Mr.Joe Medina's manual and flash cards are so good. I

am also constantly looking up the links on your forum. It fills me

with confidence about the exam.

at this time the PCTB doesn't require any extra

school. their test and application procedures are all

online. go to

https://www.ptcb.org//AM/Template.cfm?Section=Home1

for any other info you may need.

I know this is a bit old but I just wanted to agree with another you

have talked to about this. I too received the flash cards and audio

tape. It wasn't really that big of a help. You can do it just as

easy on your own, which is what I preferred to do since these are top

200 drugs from like 2002(I wrote PF and asked), so there are many

drugs not in the cards and some of the drugs in the flash cards are

no longer top 200 and some are no longer even sold. (Vioxx for

instance)

Dear Bethany,

I use to require all of my students make flash cards for the top 200 drugs and

the senior final list. They had deadlines. Then many said that they had other

ways of studying using electronic games and flashcards online. & nbsp; So I have

stopped the requirement.

I recommend www.studystack.com

Some of my students have begun using www.quizletcom

both you enter the trade/generic info one time and the site makes flash cards

and many other games.

Also the old fashion handmade seem to work very well and travel well when no

computer is available.

Drug Topics updates their TOP 200 list & nbsp; in the magazine every year & nbsp;

around Feb to March I think.

Hope this helps others who have not made or paid for flash cards. I think people

learn better when they make their own stacks and cards. It's called learning by

doing - experience is the best teacher.

Dear Mark,

Thank you for always giving us links to the military Air Force site.

However the links that you once provided tha tI have in my files are

not working now. I attempted to use the name fo the site and I got to

the Society of Air Force Pharmacists, but the Tech's Corner linkon

the menu will not work. somehow I got to a place that allowed me to

browse and I found the following:

Titled something like Drug Therapy:

http://www.af-pharmacists.org/safp/technicians/rsvs/drug_therapy_rsv.pdf

I also found another one for calculations manual. I thin this is an

updated manual from the one you last gave me. and this is probably why

the other links do not work. Also some require a pin code to get into.

For calculations:

http://www.af-pharmacists.org/safp/technicians/rsvs/pharmaceutical_calculations_\

rsv.pdf

i do hope this will help someone out there and if it works I will put

this in the link section and in the file section.

Mark if you have any other directions let me know. I could not get the

Tech's Corner to open up.

Thank you kindly,

Hi Bethany,

Thank you for the posting. Its very strange that some students have

received the flash cards and audio tape while I did not. I feel Penn

should have sent it to me anyway. It makes me wonder why they

don't update their study materials.

In this context- I came across an error in one of the exams - for one

question, none of the multiple choices provided could be marked as the

correct choice. When I mailed the school I got a reply that it had

been pointed out in the past by other students but I will get credit

for the answer. If it was pointed out by other students in the past,

why didn't they correct it immediately as it is an exam ? I hope that

was the only error. May be spotting the error is a test :)

Last month I was filled with a lot of self doubts and was discouraged.

Now I have Mr.Joe Medina's review manual and flash cards to help me

prepare for the PTCE and know I am on the right track. This forum and

also www.techlectures is wonderful with all its experts and you can

learn so much just reading all the postings.

Good luck to you. Please do post once you take your PTCE.

Regards,

Jaycee

You could also look at it this way - they no longer offer/send them

out since they are so outdated?
