Guest guest
Hi Friday, According to Drs. at U of A in Calgary, 400 units of Vit D per day (as advised by Health Canada) is a joke. They suggest up to - believe it or not - 8,000 units per day, such as we would be getting running around naked under the sunny skys of Africa. Just thought I would mention that. Sure surprised me. You must have a very patient 7 year old, ehehe.Im glad we have you on board. Also, best of luck with the lDN after you have the tests out of the way. I admire your patience but its a good idea and very methodical doing it the way you are. When you do start, what dose will you be taking?I inadvertently started on 4.5 without knowing (long story), and have been on 4.5 ever since and even though I get stiff legs in the morning, I always had stiffness before. Im use to it. Stiffness in my case is a help to a certain degree as it gives me extra strength to stand up and stay standing. that's because I dont actually walk or take steps and is strange but the stiffness strengthens my leg muscles to stand. I will be staying on 4.5 always.I have been taking 10mg Baclofen 3 times a day most of my MS life, and in the last 5 years increased slowly to 25mg 3 times a day. I obviously have so much stiffness for years that the baclofen only takes the 'edge' off the severity of them, and reduces spasms, but its not a strong enough dose to make me too weak or floppy in the muscles. Baclofen also is a trial and error drug - you gotta consult with your doctor and know your own body to adjust what dose is optimum for you. For me, Baclofen and LDN work well.regarding getting sunshine for its vitamin D benefits, I go outside for 10 minutes every morning, but never allow myself to overheat - the sun isnt terribly strong at that time of the morning. As I am sitting in my wheelchair, I only get sun on my face, shoulders, arms and tops of legs and feet - is that enough? or should I be lying in the sun? If thats the case, my poor husband has to be on standby to lift me up off the ground as I cant get up.Note to Aegis, from LDNers group, how's it going with the researchers on Minocyclone and their possible interest in LDN clinical trials? Keep up the good work, keep us posted.Friday
