Guest guest
Dear All, Especially Dora, can anyone tell me if USP 797 CE qualifies as a 'law' CE? I am asking in general and do not have a particular CE in mind. Thanks Jeanetta Mastron CPhT BS Founder/Owner
Guest guest
Hi J, Check the program number. The last digits will tell you. If it ends in -03 it qualifies as law. A Universal Program Number is an identification number which is assigned to each new continuing pharmacy education program developed and sponsored, or cosponsored, by an ACPE-accredited provider. This number is developed by appending to the ACPE provider identification number (e.g. 197), the cosponsor designation number (000 for no cosponsor, 999 for all non-ACPE-accredited cosponsors, or the ACPE identification number for ACPE-accredited cosponsors), the year of program development (e.g., 06), the sequential number of the program from among the new programs developed during that year (e.g., 001), and the format (L - Live offerings, H - Home study and other mediated offerings, C -Offerings that contain both live and home study or mediated components) and topic designators (01 - Drug therapy related, 02 - AIDS therapy related, 03 - Law topics, 04 - General Pharmacy Topics). Repeated offerings of the same program should use the same Universal Program Number for a three-year period, although the cosponsor designation might vary. Example: 197-999-06-001-L03. Guest guest
Jeanetta (and All), A USP 797 CE would qualify as an ACPE Law CE only if the program number ends in 03. These CEs detail the regulatory and compliance aspects of 797. There's a really good CE on the ASHP website by Larry Trissel discussing the 797 revisions. Here's the link: http://esymposia.ashp.org/797now/overview.htm Dora > > Dear All, > > Especially Dora, can anyone tell me if USP 797 CE qualifies as a 'law' > CE? Guest guest
Thanks Dora and ! I knew about the 03 in general. some how I got it in my head that just because it was USP changes in laws on aseptic technique and now enforced that any topic on USP 797 would automatically require and have an -03 ending or be law ce. What I am saying is that I thought all USP 797 topics would be law ce. Thanks for the clarification.
