This amendment will is unnecessary and I oppose efforts to attach health related issues to a defense spending bill:

*this is an attempt to pass laws impacting the health of millions of Americans by bypassing the regular legislative channels and the Health Committee where these issues belong.

*this amendment has not had the proper consideration and is not germaine to the Defense Authorization Bill.

*this amendment is unnecessary. It holds dietary supplements to a higher level of scrutiny than prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs and food additives. DSHEA gives the FDA ample authority to regulate dietary supplements.
