Guest guest
Mouse voice Today is day 76 or 77 on ldn for me. I have done nothing but sleep the past few days. A few days before that I was just so tired all the time. I woke up every morning very stiff in the knees and hips and had to do stretches to ease them up. Then I would just feel tired all day, didn't want to and couldn't if I did want to do anything (cooking a full meal for instance). Went from the bed to the sofa and back to bed again. I had to start taking Detrol b/c the ldn did nothing for my bladder. My left hand and left leg and foot were soooooo cold, I literally felt like ice. I woke up today, feeling very, very good. Was a little stiff in the knees, but it didn't last. It is now 4:45 p.m. I have not laid down at all. Haven't felt tired. I JUST NOW walked w/o any aid from the kitchen table to the sofa. I usually use a walker. The weather is nice, dry and warm today, it has been cloudy and raining a lot. I don't know if this is the beginning of a long stretch of good feeling, or how I'll be tomorrow. I hope it's the long stretch. I'll let you know. I, too have wondered if ldn was doing anything, but today I'm thinking it's worth sticking wwith it. I am presently taking 4.5 for at least the last month. Before that I was trying different doses, and have settled at the 4.5. I don't know the answer to why we get stiff, but if today is any indication of what LDN is doing for me, I'm personally going to keep taking it. Good luck with what you decide Arlene (SPMS) Michigan USA
Guest guest
Sorry I forgot to say that for the first few weeks, I had very disrupted sleep. Arlene Michigan USA
Guest guest
Hanneheidi, I started LDN a year ago this July. I had stiffness before I started and still do. However, Since starting LDN I have increased leg strength, improved balance and very significant improvement with urinary urgency and frequency. I did have trouble sleeping the first two weeks but that did go away. I have not had any further improvements but also no further progression. There have not been any negative side effects. I am not a doctor but I would not stop the LDN if I were you. Guest guest
Arlene, your post made me realize that I haven't had the "my leg is encased in ice" feeling for at least a month... Funny that it could go away and me not notice. That is a major improvement, as you know, it is such a miserable feeling. The other thing your post brought to mind is the fact that so many of us have changed doses, probably far too soon to know if we're on the right dose. I've been going from 1.5 to 3, then back again, probably the longest I've been on any dose has been a couple of weeks. I doubt that's really long enough to judge the effectiveness. A week ago I realized the stiffness had eased quite a bit, and since that's about the time I saw a few posts about Dr Bihari believing everyone should be on 4.5 I increased to that dosage. I had been on 3 for a couple of weeks, so it wasn't that drastic a change. My legs got a lot stiffer, but my energy level has improved. I'm done going from dosage to dosage. I'll stick with 4.5 until there is a valid reason to change. I wonder if the changes in dosage make the adjustment to the med, both sleep wise and stiffness, take longer... I'd be glad to hear ideas and opinions... ----- Original Message ----- From: arlizotte@... low dose naltrexone Sent: Saturday, June 19, 2004 1:58 PM Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] numbness and stiffness in legs...- WHY is it so? Guest guest
Sounds like you're on the road to great things. I've been on LDN for about 6 weeks and have notice better bladder control so I stopped my Detrol. Every once in a while I get a good day with the balance so there is hope for us all. Guest guest
Hang in there Denmark. I seem to think a few little weird things happen before the good. I had a few days where I felt really lousy just like I did when I came out of remission in 1998. After a few days I feel better. Hang in there.
