Guest guest
Sheila, i am PPMS and always have been. No remissions, or spontaneous flare ups. The only symptom in the beginning that was an 'attack' was a blurry vision in one eye, lasted 2 weeks, disappeared and cleared up - never had eye problems since. My only lesions are on my spine at T6 level. Only my legs have been effected and slow progression with no remission to date (in 15 years). Below is the definition of ppMS as found in This Is MS website. " The primary progressive form of multiple sclerosis is the most degenerative form of MS, characterized by a slow (nearly continuous) worsening of symptoms from the onset of the disease. It is a relatively rare form of the disease, occurring in about 10 percent of multiple sclerosis patients and more typically occurs in men. Unlike the more common relapsing-remitting form of the disease, it is not associated with distinct relapses or periods of remission. No currently available treatments have shown significant positive effects in treating PPMS. " Regards, Friday > Yash, > > How would you define the difference between PPMS and SPMS? Since my MS is progressive and was not diagnosed until it didn't go away, I couldn't say which I actually have. I usually describe it as SPMS because that feels better to me, but I don't know the true diff. > > Thanks, Sheila
