If no one else steps forward, I'd be happy to be a

co-moderator. I have a group on FlashWriting

which I've been able to keep it almost SPAM-free for

several years simply by requiring moderator approval

for each member (I give it automatically to anyone

that seems legit.) Only one entity snuck on and was

bounced permanently within hours of the post.

If it would be considered a barrier to people signing

up to require moderator approval, another possiblity

I've heard about from another group moderator is

to allow people to join freely, but require the

member's first post be reviewed by the moderator. If

that's fine, then the member is allowed to post freely

after that point. I know that's kept the amount of

SPAM way down on that list as well.

happy to help: http://www.editavenue.com/article.asp?userid=4924. For longer

Lori,

That is great news that your joint pain is relived since you move. Have you

been able to figure out what it was?

I'm glad to see you back.

She was talking to me, Audrey. I think she hit the wrong button and sent it to

the group rather than just to me. ;-)

Help needed, I started Lexapro on 8/31/2007 - until 9/14/07 - 10mgs - Since then

I have done 20mg until today. When will I notice the antidepressant effects. Is

it simply too soon to hope for it to kick in?

You need to give it a few more weeks. 4 to 6 is the average to feel results. For

some it's longer for some shorter. If it doesn't seem to be helping you should

talk to your doc. Lexapro is only one of many AD's on the market.

Give it a couple of more weeks. Also, you won't " feel " like you're high or

anything, but you should notice a lessening of depressive symptoms, such as

anger, crying, excessive irritation, or whatever your symptoms are when you're

in depression.

You can repost spam to at the below site. I hope this takes you to where you need to go....this needs to be reported by as many of us as possible, so maybe it will stop. I looked up the moderators, and they are names that I don't think I've seen on here posting since I joined. If they aren't active, does someone know them? Maybe the group can be taken over by someone that has the time, and wants to make the effort, to "police" this group....as in, you have to get approved to be on here, etc

This spam mail is out of control! Too bad, as this is a great forum for HCG!

From: ohneclue@...Date: Thu, 10 Sep 2009 04:04:31 -0700Subject: Re: Spam

I understand exactly how you feel. The problem is if you hit the report as spam function, it ONLY makes that one, fake, email address be reported as spam.

As you've probably noticed, each one pfthe same spam email has a different email addressed sender. Therefore, you will only be adding that one fake address to the spam file and will continue to get more as they put new fake email addresses on the next "send".

Yes, you are correct, that individual "user" will be blocked according to their email.

But when it is a fake, one time use email and they only mail you once with that name, it only stops the horse after he's already out of the barn.

They never use that email to spam again so it makes NO difference. The next spam of the exact same message will be send from a different "user" with a different email.

I thought if we open the message and click on the spam button it will block the user from further spamming.

I have sent emails to the owner and the moderator explaining what is happening and so far, have no answer or any reduction in the spam. I will continue to try and work on this problem for all of us.

The group is maintained by . If you think is selling your email

address, you should contact them.

Note that while it is necessary to join the group to post, anyone (non-members)

can see your posts on the web. There are computer programs that scan the

internet for email addresses for the purposes of sending spam.
