Guest guest
Hi. I finally got it for my son. I tried desperately to get a doc to prescribe it for him, then when I finally gave in and called Dr. , we had to wait over a month for the appointment. But we finally have it in our hands, and you can't imagine a happier 16 year old on this earth. (I haven't posted lately, but in case you don't remember, he was on Rebif, and the injections were literally destroying his life...) Anyway, Dr. told us to take it one hour before bedtime. I can call him tomorrow and ask him, but I thought I would get responses from you guys who are actually using LDN as well. It's summer vacation, the kid is 16, very social, and his " bedtime " varies from night to night...He's a night owl on top of everything else, so I'm wondering if it will affect the way it works if he takes it at different times nightly, or if he needs to try to structure his schedule a bit more and take it at the same time every night and go to bed at the same time every night?????? I'm really confused. I read a posting from another LDN user on another board, and he works midnights yet he takes his LDN at 1 a.m....I thought sleep cycles played a huge part in this, so this really confused me. Please let me know how you manage this. Do any of you keep crazy schedules like this? He might go to bed at midnight one night, but if he has company, they might stay up til 3 a.m. the next night. Thanks in advance for your help! Take care! Kim
Guest guest
The important time to take it is between 9 p.m. and 3a.m. because it works with the earth's (I forgot exactly what) but it's something like the gravity (I think) that's why weight and nigth workers still take the same dosage at the same time as day workers. --- In low dose naltrexone , " petessweetheart " > Please let me know how you manage this. Guest guest
One more thing Kim I have stayed up late also as with the sun not setting until around 10:00pm and it staying dusk until midnight, who can sleep. Yet by taking it at the same time give or take an hour, I get great results. Guest guest
That would be me you're referring to? I work nights and have taken it after midnight and usually before 2am, sometimes even after. A few months ago I created an alarm on my cell phone for 1:10AM, so I've been taking it between 1 and 1:30 most nights for a while now. Even when I'm not working, I am almost always up passed midnight, so therefore no matter when I'm actually sleeping or napping, I take the LDN around 1AM. I'll be leaving for a few weeks, going camping again. We usually don't get to sleep til 3-4-5AM while camping, but I still will take the LDN around 1AM. ON the rare occasions where I've gone to bed at or before 11pm, they were the only few times I've ever taken it before midnight-1am. Good luck! ----- Original Message ----- From: petessweetheart low dose naltrexone Sent: Sunday, June 27, 2004 16:45 Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Help...Finally got LDN for 16 year old with MS Hi.
