Guest guest
It is perfectly acceptable for ACPe approved RPh CE with a " P " to be also numbered with a " T " for techs if it has been deemed appropriate. And there are many programs out there right now like this. man you sound like my clone! Those are my very words: continued education should be just that! I have talked about foundational basics until I am blue in the face and that CE should build upon the basics. " Case in point...just attended on Wednesday evening a talk entitled: " Improving Compliance and Overcoming Barriers to Adherence with Psycotropic Medications " Absolutely no reason why techncians wouldn't benefit from such knowledge. Again, as you know, I feel like we are our own best advocates. Continuing education should be just that...continuing your education. I, too feel that I am perfectly capable of understanding and learning from many CE aimed at Pharmacists. Unfortunately, those techs out there that, in my opinion, ABUSED this requirement by more or less just finding the appropriate paragraph in the CE to answer the question or attended lectures at meetings that they had no way of comprehending...have spoiled it for those of us capable of more! So, as much as I too dislike this seperate numbering system...I feel it almost became a necessary evil. And for those of us seeking more...I'm sure, like me you meet your 20hr requirement during the first couple of months of your new certification period. I often read and attend CE's just for the pure gain of knowledge. I know...I'm a big Pharmacy Technican NERD. Oh, did I mention...certified pharmacy technician. PS...what a difference 24hrs (and some stern words from " mom " ) can make! V
Guest guest
nothing stopping the CE maker from getting the B designation either (meaning BOTH Techs and pharmacists) --- vicki <vixenve@...> wrote: My local chapter of ASHP has done a very nice job of getting separate technician " approval.
