Guest guest
As part of the LDN stiffness the muscles in my ribcage get pretty stiff at times. (The intercostal muscles) They make my chest feel tight, sometimes like someone is sqeezing the lower part of it. This is an MS symptom I've had to a lesser degree off and on for a few years. There have been times that it makes me feel like I'm not breathing well... On the days that my legs are stiff so are my intercostal muscles. You may be experiencing the same thing. ----- Original Message ----- From: crispyparis low dose naltrexone Sent: Wednesday, June 23, 2004 4:36 AM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Your experiences when starting LDN This is my third attempt with LDN - I started on 3mg capsules and experienced breathing problems after 8 days so was advised to come off them - Having had two weeks of hospital tests on heart and chest, which all proved to be functioning correctly, I decided that these problems must just be another MS thing (I'm PPMS by the way), so asked around and was advised to try a lower dose to begin with.My doctor prescribed 1.5mg capsules and I've now been on them for 7days. The first day I felt wonderful until mid afternoon and the days since have not been bad until yesterday and today. Now I'm back with the tight chest and swimming head. I'm wondering what period of time I might expect things to be bad for. Any ideas would be appreciated. One thing that has improved from day two on, is not having to get up more than once in the night. I've also found myself getting around the house without the need of my stick, at least up until today, so that's encouraging. If I can stick with this dose for a couple of weeks, I shall be trying to increase to 3mg at least, but I'm wondering if the getting worse before getting better is going to apply again. All the best to you all,P
Guest guest
Thanks for that . After talking on various forums, I decided I was probably experiencing what many call the MS Hug, but your suggestion sounds good. I guess I'm just trying to convince myself that things will get better if I keep taking the capsules, and hoping that stepping up in the weeks to come, won't bring it all back again. Guest guest
This is another area where ldn has done nothing as I still get that "ms hug" as it is so approprietly called. I was hoping that after seven months now it would dissapear but nope! However just this morning I woke up at five with more energy then I have had for years! And yesterday I went for a four hour drive (round trip)and felt fine, no washroom breaks, no tired neck, no tremors, Life is good! Guest guest
Thanks Reg, I guess I'll just have to stick with it for a while. It's not too easy to ealuate the numbers it is working for. I've seen the online survey results, but I'd imagine that very few of the people it didn't work for would be bothered to fill the survey in Just a thought, all the very best, P
