Guest guest
It is really hard to say what to do here, because we can't actually " see " what it looks like or where it really is. However, it is completely safe to breastfeed on an infected breast. In fact, it is good to keep on nursing so you don't lower your supply and the build up of unexpressed milk can make things worse. I wonder if you don't have a plugged duct on the nipple itself. I would use Vit E oil for pain and healing. Get air to it as much as you can (let it all hang out if possible). Since it seems to feel better when pressure is against it when nursing and this is exactly what they tell you to do if you have a blocked duct, then this makes me even more suspicious that this is what is going on. Can you use comfrey compresses on the area at all between nursings? This might help, as will parsely compresses. It is just so hard to figure it out over the internet. lol! I personally would keep on nursing. The baby will build up antiboties and they always tell us to nurse more on the infected breast when there is a breast infection-even if there is pus and all showing. Gross I know, but that is the coarse of action recommended. HTH in some small way. ~
