Pseudo exacerbations are usually brought on by an infection or anything that stresses the body. It is usually from what I recall, a flair of old symptoms or exagerated present ones. My neuro had told me this when I thought I was having an attack. She would not put me on steroids until I had a urine test for infection.(this is pre-ldn)

Dr. B repeated the same thing basically to me too. Have you checked your sinuses or taken an antihistamine? That has worked for my vertigo in the past. Hope you feel better soon !!

Hi Carol,

You're not alone, after literally 10+ years I started a "mild" exacerbation with Vertigo. Why, I was full of stress and on a demanding 14 day Italy trip, my diet, exercise and attitude was totally upside down. What an eye opening experience that was!! I've never heard of a "Psuedo Attack" before I'll be doing a search and researching as well. Good luck and I hope others comment on this as well.

I spoke with Dr. Bihari on the 4th. Seems what I'm going thru right now is called a Psuedo Attack. I guess I've been feeling so good for so long, I have allowed myself to forget that I have MS and have overdone it. Not good. He was kind enough to explain it to me, and I know it's temorary. Still, after 2 yrs. of doing so well, with no problems, I have to admit, it scared me. I do realize I've done this to myself. A bit of overindulging on life! I promised myself to slow it down. The viritgo is a horror right now, my legs are starting to feel a bit stronger today....I'm happy about that. But my question to you is this. Is there anyone who can tell me where I can find Written Information on this? I've never heard of a Psuedo exacerbation before, and I would like to read up on it.

Thanx very much in advance for your help.

Your kinda dizzy and a little shakey friend

Carol
