Guest guest
Hi All, Very interesting subject this "Blood Group" thing. Its been shown to do with blood MS has. Certain antibodies with the platelets dictates if you have a vulnerability susceptibility towards getting {for want of a better term} MS. I myself am Beta Trait Thalessemic and have read that moving environments beit North, South, East or West plays a part in the susceptibility rate. Thalessemia is a Mediterranean problem, my mum & dad being Italian have this Trait, although they never knew this & its passed on to the children. My docs say if 2 thalassic decide to have children the children will be born with deformities. My cousin in Italy has just seen that happen to their child, Elle was born with one hand. God speed everyone, ----- Original Message ----- From: gerald rollason low dose naltrexone Sent: Sunday, July 18, 2004 9:40 AM Subject: [low dose naltrexone] Blood Group-Diet etc Hi Marie & all! -I`ve been watching these blood group postings with interest because I am curious as to whether there is any pattern as to the incidence of MS & any particular blood group: -Until Jay posted recently, all the postings had been A or B, no O`s despite O`s apparently being the most common group: (-in the nicest possible sense, of course!!!) -I`m O group, so I was becoming curious about this apparent lack of O`s! What finally prompted me to respond was your expressed interest in the "Eat Right for Your Type" blood group approach to diet: I have been using this book of D`Adamo to help me make more appropiate food choices for several years now (-5,maybe?) & I have been very pleased with results & now have great confidence in the main tenets of the book. (The only large area in which I definately don`t follow his recommendations is the area of nutritional supplements: -I take rather vast quantities of these & I`m inclined to think that his recommendations may be unnecessarily cautious in this area! ) I can almost imagine hearing the snorts of disbelief as I anticipate the likely response to what I am about to write next!!!.................Actually, the only reason that I know that I am O blood group is because the foods that work & don`t work for me are as listed for O group! ........Not every food is this obvious of course, (if they all were, we wouldn`t need a book like this for guidance in the first place!) However, there are certain foods that are very obvious in their effects: eg. Tomatoes should be avoided by A & B group people (they are liable to cause arthritic type joint problems!) but they don`t cause this problem in O group people. (Although I know from my own experience, other things can! -eg. strawberries with sugar are particularly lethal for me, & strawberries come in the avoid group for O`s! Dairy & wheat are described as no-no`s for O`s! -These had already given me up by the time I read this information!!! Curiously, it`s only B`s ( a rather small group)that are really OK with dairy, & even more curiously, wheat doesn`t seem to all be that wonderful for any of the blood groups! -So much for the primary grain of western culture! -Small wonder health problems are so abundant for us! Apparently, regarding food choices, the question of + or - is not relavant. Of course, determining one`s blood group from the information contained in this book is certainly not the easiest way to go about it! However, my experience has convinced me that it is possible & I am sufficiently convinced by the beneficial outcome of my experiences that I feel no need to get my group checked "officially"! However, anyone in a hurry to get the correct info would obviously be better off having a test! Changing the subject, I am another of the "own fault" pseudo exacerbation slow learners! -Feeling great (courtesy of LDN!), I did some work on the house which took a few weeks, & then my increased energy , coupled with a long term tendancy to carry on almost till I drop, resulted in my going to bed later & later,......... 2am,4am, 6am, 8am, 10am!......etc. until eventually I REALLY ran out of energy!.........(I hope It`s a pseudo exacerbation at any rate! -though I`m beginning to doubt it....I think it`s been over a month now & my energy still hasn`t really come back: -Also I now seem to be stuck with a "dropped" or "missed" heartbeat which varies in frequency but doesn`t actually clear up: -Pretty dumb thing to do to oneself, eh?!...........If I had my time again!....................... -So be warned all you driven "overdoers"!!! -Be (more) gentle with yourselves! Thanks for all the good posts! (esp. the recent very clear 3 mo. report, by Kikki, I think?) Best wishes to you all!
