Dear " Xlady "

At this time you do not have to have a college degree to become a pharm tech!

You may find some pharmacists who prefer to work with or hire techs with a AA/AS

degree or BA/BS   but it is not a law or requirement by law in any state. Some

day it may become a requirement WHEN standardization of education becomes a

reality.

However higher education has hurt no one!

I saw a bumper sticker the other day:

If you think education sucks, try ignorance!

I digress.....

There is a requirement for most states that you must be 18 and a hs graduate or

GED. But a few states still allow 16 yr olds to be techs, whicfh would mean no

hs diploma/GED.

So I would not put too much stock into not getting hired because you do not have

a degree. While it may have helped some people, it is not the norm for

requirements or qualifications.

Hope this helps,

Repectfully,
