Guest guest
Hi everyone, have just joined after learning about the wonderful benefits of ldn for ms sufferers. My mother is a sufferer and would like to get hold of some. Does anyone in the UK know how to go about getting some without a GP prescription? Have heard pharmacies in US can supply, but where do you start? Any advice greatly appreciated! Lynne.
Guest guest
> can you please inform me how and where I can obtain LDN in UK Hi , I'm being treated conventionally by an NHS bowel specialist, (Dr Ellis based in Portsmouth / sfield / Hampshire), for Crohns. After taking first the press released from MedInsight, and later the results of the Penn State University trials, I persuaded Dr Ellis that LDN was worth trying for me, given the increasing cost and side-effects risk of the traditional treatment plan that I'm currently going through, which traditionally ends up with progressively more severe drugs and surgery. The only problem was that, despite him trying, he could find no pharmacy that could dispense LDN. He did try - he looked for liquid form that I could self-administer, and found it not available in the UK. Then he asked the hospital pharmacist if he could dispense it but, as the Dr warned me they probably would, the pharmacist declined, not wanting to take the legal risk of being involved in an uncontrolled experiment with no safety backup. Dr Ellis was not very happy with the inaccurate dosage that would have occurred if he prescribed me 50mg capsules for me to grind up and separate myself. Therefore for the past few months I've had an NHS Dr prepared to prescribe, but no way to get it dispensed. Today I stumbled on this forum and http://www.low dose naltrexone.org/, thanks to an email from Moshe Rogosnitzky 6 months ago which for inexplicable reasons I lost and only found today. Today I rang Dicksons pharmacy in Glasgow, (phone number on that web-site), and they confirmed that yes they can accept an NHS prescription by post, and post back LDN: 3mg or 4.5mg capsules, or liquid form. So, as soon as I can see the Dr again I will ask him to prescribe. I will also try my GP on Monday morning and see what he says, because that will be quicker than waiting for my next appt with the NHS specialist. I'll keep you posted. Have you managed to get it prescribed in the UK?
