Guest guest
Someone told me there are 8 versions of the test. Is this true? In a message dated 1/4/2008 5:59:49 P.M. Do you think that maybe people think that the tests are different because they are taking a test for the second time after not passing the first time. I think I heard that when you retake a test they have several different versions so that you do not take the same test each time. When people talk about the tests they do not say if this is the first time taking or a repeat time. I do know of a girl who took the test about 5 times before she passed and each time she had a different test. Maybe this could be one reason for the confusion. Guest guest
An excellent point!! If one person is taking it for the first time, they may get one exam while another for the second time is NOT going to get the same exam. So if the two compared notes about the % of math vs % of law etc it may be different in reality and also in perseption due to background differences. So this is very possible and a very good explanation. However many do say that they are first time takers. And most on this site have been first time takers. With in the first time takers there is a difference of opinion. And therefore it may be due to background, perception and reality. Who really knows? Since we sign waivers to protect the content of the exams we will/can not discuss exact questions. And therefore we only have the information that PTCB puts out. But it is not conclusive on this issue. Thanks for sharing that excellent point! Well taken! Jeanetta PS good to see you posting again! Guest guest
There used to be a new version each year when it was paper. However with the online electronic testing I could not say. I do not think PTCB even states it any more. I would not doubt that there are as many test VERSIONS as necessary so that if the whole room was filled with test takers at the testing facility that they each would have a different version. The PTCB always said that the versions on any one testing day for paper testing were the exact same questions in a different order so that it would prevent cheating. So the online testing would have the same capability to rearrange the SAME questions so that the order is different with each test taker and there would be NO need to change the test only the random order in which the test qustions come up. Thank you for bringing up this point. I personally think the difference in reported post test opinions is due to the order of the exam that changes except amont retesters vs first timers along with individual background variances which account for perception differences.
