Guest guest
hi karen, it will depend on what time you go to bed too. we usually eat our evening meal at 8pm too, but we are up and awake until at least 11pm or midnight, sometimes 1pm every night. if we eat earlier than 8pm i start getting really hungry again before going to bed, which often leads me to snack on creamed coconut - the solid kind - i slice it like " cheese " and nibble nibble nibble... i know the carbs from that late night snack keep a few extra pounds on me as well! in a perfect world we would be going to bed around 10 or 11pm and eating evening meal earlier, but my husband is a real night owl, and in school right now, so he frequently stays up late working on his writings and readings, and i naturally have adjusted to his time clock so that we are on the same schedule. maybe what you meant is to eat a larger meal earlier in the day and eat a lighter meal in the evening. i think that is a healthy approach! we are americans, and we are conditioned to eat a regular supper-type meal in the evening, and eat a little lighter during the day. perhaps its time to begin re-conditioning ourselves. now living in europe, we see more of a trend for people to eat larger meal at lunch time and smaller meal in the evening. my german aunt and uncle eat that way, she's in her eighties and he's in his late seventies and they are both in very good shape and quite healthy. i'll be intersted to hear what you change and how it affects you! take good care ~ susan > Your last sentence answered my previous question. That is probably what I am doing wrong. I eat my big meal around 8:00. I will have to change my schedule. > >
