I'm already taking turmeric (curcurmin) for inflammation. It seems to be helping optic neuritis. Can you point me in the direction of more information besides what was posted a few days ago? Guest guest
I know where to get curcumin (turmeric). I'm already taking it. I was inquring here about recommended dosages from the herbalist, particularly on milk thistle. Alan, I'm taking two 300 to 450mg caps or tablets (depending on brand) three times a day, with meals. That's twice the recommeded dosage on the bottle. I don't think one can OD on it. I did notice at first that my urine was more yellow, but that's stopped. As far as dosage, I'm winging it, which I do a lot with this condition. My neuro knows nothing about alternatives. It seems as if the ON is improving. I'm starting to be able to read with the right eye, when I close my left. I think it's worth a try, for general inflammation if nothing else. I think it would be cheapest to buy turmeric in the bulk spice section and do your own capping. I'm a raw foodist and have started using it more on food--spiced nuts and curries. Cooking it might change it's properties. I dunno, it's not an issue because I don't heat food. Martha
Guest guest
Martha, You are on the right track, add " Lutein " and " Bilberry " to your supplements, for your eyes. Also " EPA " for good blood circulation especially for the blood vessels aroubd your eyes.
