Guest guest
Hi all, I just joined. I don't know if I am electrosensitive or not. I am a severe (bedridden except bathroom) sufferer of strictly-defined neuroimmune diseases and likely-related diseases. My guess is that EMF is not -- or not yet (I'd like to keep it that way) -- related to any medical issues in my case. However, I do feel a buzzing sensation around electric fans. I might or might not be reacting in other ways, including to cell phones and computers. I have never done a blinded test on myself -- or even an unblinded one. I joined because I need to know if metal roofs, low metal ceilings, and metal 2x4 construction are potentially problematic. I know at least the roof is grounded; I think a lightning strike would take out the power meter, or something like that. I can possibly get it tested with an EMF meter of some type. I use a lot of electrical equipment. In short: I want to prevent EMF issues. What do I look for, ask, consider replacing, avoid, etc.? Is it good, bad, remediable, or don't even consider it? Comments? === About me: I am an advocate for neuroimmune diseases (see my blog in my sig). As yet I know little about EMF physics, biomedicine, or politics. I suspect the politics are bad. I know that many people have EMF issues, especially in MCS and M.E. I am a strongly science-oriented person. While I have you, I would be interested in 2 more things. (I'm aware the first one is off-topic -- private email is welcome.) 1) A /very brief/ (only a few sentences) scientific explanation or empirical facts that I can use to motivate the topic to other science-oriented people. (As in, I would say, " I know nothing about it, but I was told that ... " ). 2) Ideas for creating a blinded experiment so that I can test myself for these issues. I'm thinking something like loud music, a blindfold, and a fan with the blades removed. Hard to arrange that, however. Thanks. P.S. Please CC: me on all posts in case I miss any subject header changes that are relevant. This group is prohibitively high volume for my capacity to do things. -- The Kafka Pandemic: http://thekafkapandemic.blogspot.com/2010/12/welcome-to-kafka-pandemic-two-force\ s_9182.html I support the Whittemore- Institute (WPI) === I want to see the original (pre-hold) Lo et al. 2010 NIH/FDA/Harvard MRV paper.
