Hands-on therapies as well as many psycho-therapies require professional licensing such as that of a massage therapist, nurse, psychologist etc. However, many professionals choose to go ahead and become " certified " in the field of aromatherapy. Guest guest
Hi All.. Just a few thoughts on this subject: <<<<How does the student benefit by your course being state licensed?>> Certification from a licensed school will be more readily accepted when and if the field of aromatherapy ever becomes regulated in the U.S.>> Personally, I would be very sad if that day ever arrives. Essential oils should be treated the same as vitamins/herbs. <<<<What will certification allow him/her to do that he can't already do prior to receiving certification?>> Nothing and we make no such claims. Hands-on therapies as well as many psycho-therapies require professional licensing such as that of a massage therapist, nurse, psychologist etc. However, many professionals choose to go ahead and become " certified " in the field of aromatherapy.>> Key word here.. professionals.. already in the medical field. Those of us that incorporate essential oils into our lives would like the freedom of purchasing them the same as herbs/vitamins. Please understand that I am all for education. However, this crush to 'regulate' this industry is driven more by the medical professionals. just some humble thoughts on this 'volatile' subject. ~~^~ SunRose Aromatics ~^~~ http://www.sunrosearomatics.com ~~^~ SunRose Aromatics ~^~~ http://www.sunrosearomatics.com

Oh and practice skills & catch up on new medical issues etc Best wishes Certification Hi to all, Always interesting stuff to read on this Group! I was wondering how long does Certification last for the Offshore Medic Course? Is it three years before having to take a refresher? Cheers, Ged H. (the other Ged!) Guest guest
I was originally certified by Aerobic Pipeline International, but I think they went out of business last year. I had just gone with them because they are the first one I found that came to the small town I lived in at the time. I've renewed with the International Fitness Association for both Personal Training and Sports Nutritionist. This summer, now that I'm in a major city where ACE comes, I'll be taking the ACE exam for Personal Trainer. I'm also going for a Master Trainer certification in Pilates and Yoga with Fitour. Plus I have a diploma in fitness from PCDI. As for the nutrition, you have to check with your local area. Before I lived in North Carolina, I was able to use my sports nutritionist certification to give nutrition advice to clients, but here in North Carolina, you have to be a Registered Dietician to administer nutritional weight loss programs (which is what most clients want). Guest guest
Blessings Jeanetta, I've finally decided to at least take the exam coming up. You may remember me, I relocated to good ol Louisiana with my husband and after working in healthcare since 1974, 15 years of that working as a pharmacy tech in a hospital setting. I have not a problem getting certified. Here I am, almost 50 years old and having to worry about this test. I would just a suggestion on where do I start. What area's should I concentrate on? Do you recommend one book from another? I'm to old for this...lololol I love your site and I have even passed it on to my friends in Ohio and Pa. I'm signing up this evening. Any suggestions will help. Are there any contacts in andria, Louisiana or short term refresher courses? In Christ Carla **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides.
