Guest guest
Dar: You know you may be on to something. I attributed my bad first run with the LDN to the opiate-based meds still in my system, but I'm having some hormone issues right now, too. Including female and adrenals. I have a uterine polyp and some blood filled cysts on an ovary and its messing with my cycles- they are long and exhausting! Perhaps some of my nausea and stomach upset was also hormonal in nature. I've up-ed my dosage of progesterone (I use a product called Progesta-Care) to help with some of the symptoms- breast tenderness and night sweats. It helped. But I think I'm going to have my next batch of LDN compounded with acidophillus just to see if that theory pans out as well. I know my gut flora is pretty out of whack after all the foot infections I had last year. I was on a lot of antibiotics. I know I do best with my Hypericin if I take it with a light snack just before bed so will do the same when I re-start the LDN. The Hypericin is a pretty potent herbal and just the smell of it makes me go 'blech'. Of course nothing is as stinky as my Armour Thyroid that I have to take each morning- it comes from porcine-Pig- thyroid and the smell is more than "blech" its just plain gross! I can summon up my memories of morning sickness just thinking about it. SmandyJo: You are looking good sweating it out on that bowflex, woman! Do you think that thing will fit in our basement? And I thought you were supposed to look at the world through rose-colored glasses not violet. Thanks for the encouragement earlier today. Needed that. Can you come fold my laundry next? ;-) : Yes, Yes, Yes to the Benfo! Sent you a seperate email. Check your in-box. Marcie: My thoughts are with you and yours. Try not to worry (easier said than done) and finally to Dear Friday: Sending you smiles...how ya going today? Lara Croft wants to know... Am off to bed now...very very very tired after having a birthday party for our cats today. Yes, you read that right. We actually had a pizza party and an icecream cakeand even took pictures...I swear my kids talked me into it, especially my 7 yr old daughter. She said we couldn't let the boys turn one year old without celebrating in some way! Well OK, the icecream cake was my idea. :-) Best all around, Lara
Guest guest
Thank you - Lara, Jill, and Reg. Lara, Lara: At first I thought the nausea was caused by the filler c.c. but when it continued with avicel only worse, I began to wonder. Since the nausea only occured in the AM and felt like Morning Sickness, I began to toss around the possibility of a LDN - hormone connection. However, if it is hormonal, I would expect many other people to have similar symptoms and since that does not seem to be the case or...people are just not reporting their side effects, I'm not so sure. I have never had any problems with my period, pms, or menapausal hot flashes. Morning sickness during the first trimester of my first pregnancy was about it. I recently started using Estring which is a diaphragm like vaginally inserted ring which releases estradiol throughout the 24 hour day for 3 months. Perhaps there is a connection between the estradiol and ldn. I'll be replacing it in about 3 weeks and will leave it out for a week at that time and see what happens. It is interesting that you use Armour Thyroid. I tried it but opted for a combination of cytomel (synthetic T3) and Levoxyl (T4). Way too stinky and supposedly not that stable. At one point, I thought that maybe the Levoxyl was giving me the nausea so I started to take it later in the day and the nausea did not disappear. However, taking the thyroid meds with a full glass of water on an empty stomach first thing in the Am, makes the nausea worse. All I can manage are a few wheat-free saltine-type crackers. I assume you take the Armour for HypoThyroid. Has LDN mad a difference in your T4, T3, and TSH labs? I took my LDN with some cheese and crackers last night. Sorry to say, no difference. I am hopeful that we will be able to get to the bottom of this and that more people will respond. LDN has too many benifits to want to give it up and yet, the morning nausea is making things difficult. The crackers offer some help but not enough. --Dar > Dar: > You know you may be on to something. Guest guest
I had a greatly reduced appetite for the first several weeks on LDN. Perhaps that was a mild nausea...
