Any ideas on how to give them (she doesn't swallow pills)? If there's something natural I could do to supplement her medicine and get the seizures to stop, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

I'm telling you this ONLY because I know about it (and because my

brother-in-law invented it) - because it is surgery, and I think always

that surgery is the VERY LAST resort. But - and maybe you are already

aware of it - or at least your doctor should be - this is an implantable

device (kinda like a pacemaker is) - it is wired up to the vagus nerve,

and when the person feels a seizure coming on, all they do is touch the

implant with a magnet and it stops the seizure. IF nothing else helps,

people have gotten a lot of relief from this. It's called the vagus

nerve stimulator - or VNS. http://my.webmd.com/hw/epilepsy/aa138962.asp

I once had a boyfriend who would have very bad epileptic seizures in his sleep. He went to a homeopathic doctor and he gave him a remedy that worked. He had no seizures while taking the homeopathic remedy. I have long lost touch with him, the doctor has retired, and don't remember what the medication was. Maybe a good homeopathic doctor would be able to help with your problem.

Interesting Carol, and very non-invasive compared to the split-brain

procedure they used to do in extreme cases. I think, depending on the exact

problem, that this would be contra-indicated in this child because of heart

complications. Definitely something to check into for any epileptic though

in my mind thanks.

Hi SnowKitty,

While a ketogenic diet might be a good diet for her to do I am thinking

that she will do much better on an all raw diet of fresh fruits and

vegetables. No dairy, meats or processed foods. Just fresh raw foods

only. Grains, nuts and seeds as long as they are soaked, for a minimum

of 8 hours, and allowed to sprout for at least a day would be very good

for her too. However, I would not use fish oil or Primrose oil.

Instead, use either Udo's oil or Hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil is a

natural perfect blend of all the omegas. Udo had to work to get his that

way.

If she will drink juices then give her a tablespoonful in a glass of

juice two to three times per day. Do make sure she is getting plenty of

C, A, E and B's along with sufficient sun for the D.

Thank you!

There are a couple of problems, though. One is that my daughter only

has seizures while sleeping. She's going to have a head and neck

evaluation coming up (the doctor just left me a message on my

answering machine and referred to it as a " head and neck " ). She's

been tested with a pulse-ox machine for apnea, and the test was

inconclusive.

The second thing is that she had complications with her heart surgery

(bleeding and fluid retention) but the procedure you describe sounds

less invasive. We'd like to avoid surgery if at all possible. I'll

bring this up with her neuro. just as soon as they have an idea

what's causing this.
