I think he's right about grains. Certainly if they're prepared properly, in accordance with the principles in NT, they're much less unhealthy than if they're eaten the way most people eat them now, and more people can tolerate them that way, but I don't know that anyone can achieve optimal health with a meaningful amount of grains in their diet, and many people still won't be able to tolerate them well. I know I can't. Certainly Mercola's recommendations have some flaws, but I've been reading his newsletter for quite awhile now, and IMO his views have been evolving in a positive direction. He's still opposed to dairy, AFAIK, but since he's learned about the importance of feeding livestock grass instead of grains it might just be a matter of time before he learns that raw dairy from pastured traditional-breed cows can be very, very healthy. -
Guest guest
I think his reasoning is in how grains affect blood sugar. " Raw milk (unpasteurized) might be acceptable for most non-dairy sensitive people, but is it difficult to obtain. Guest guest
I'm sure he benefits in some way. Even if he turns any gains back into his web site and other good projects. It's not the fact that he may make money from these products. It's the fact that he leads one to believe that the link in his newsletter will lead one to real " meat and potatoes. " In my opinion it's playing dirty pool to say to follow the link to gain knowledge without also saying you have to pay for the privilege. It is for this reason that I've not bought his book. Judith Alta -----Original Message----- From: Sheryl [mailto:dovedesignsrus@...] Do you think he is getting paid for advertising for the products others are selling? Kind of like commercials. Guest guest
Mercola may well be receptive, as his #1 goal is to have the top health site on the internet. At the very least he should state something like, " To find out how to get this information you may buy my book(s) at . . . " Then if I already have the book, or have no interest in buying it, I can save time and skip the link. Judith Alta -----Original Message----- From: jafa [mailto:jafasum@...] Does anyone know if we could email him with our complaints? I don't mind him advertising his wares, but it is excessive and I think should be decreased about 80%. He would still sell his stuff and have less aggravated web browsers. Maybe he would be receptive to this. Jafa
Guest guest
I love it !! Another Mercola subscriber.... Although I don't use much dairy, I began buying only raw dairy products after reading Dr. Mercola. The Mennonite farm I go to takes it right from the cow that morning. Their homemade raw yogurt is excellent. They have to put a label on it that says "For Pet Consumption Only" to cover themselves (govt. requirement), but if you can get raw dairy it's wonderful. I have a cat who would never drink milk, but when I bought raw milk he lapped it right up. Gloria
