Guest guest
Hi All, I am well and checking in. The hurricane was very traumatic needless to say. Thank God for Gov. Bush and Pres. Bush. The outpouring of assistance is incredible. "Fema" is going door to door to help, thousands of folks have lost everything they own. Only in America, everyone is helping one another, the destruction is horrendous. "Fema" is providing emergency funds to whoever need it. The human spirit is really shinning. We were most fortunate and had no damage and all is well for us but many others are in desperate circumstances. Thank you all for your prayers. Regards, Tom

Guest guest
Tom, I'm happy to hear you escaped damage from Charley. My Dad has a condo in N. Fort Myers (Admiralty Circle). He passed away in February and none of us has been able to get any info on his place. Apparently you have power and phone. Is this true of most of N. Fort Myers? Was there flood damage? Of course I know you can't answer specific questions, but a general feeling of how things are there is better than what we have now. While most of us are concerned about the state of the property, my sister is concerned about the ice cream place by Juicy Lucy's ;-) Thanks, Maureen
Guest guest
Hi Maureen, I will go to Admiralty Circle to check it out. Power was restored in most of N. Ft. Myers last Monday. There has not been any flood damage, however, there has been a lot of wind damage in several areas. I'll also check out the ice cream place. Guest guest
Hi Maureen, I went over to check Admiralty Circle and there does not appear to be any damage. I'm not sure because all the street signs blew down. Guest guest
Tom, thanks for the good news, which I've shared with my siblings. Hope things are going well for you now that things seem to be getting back toward normal there. It was very kind of you to take the time to go check it out for me. Next time I'm there I'll take you for ice cream at the place near Juicy Lucy's ;-) Maureen
Guest guest
The hurricane has stalled over the city. I lost three trees in my backyard and the winds are gusting about 65 mph. My father had knee replacement surgery on Wednesday, so I am going back and forth to see him, but the weather is much worse today than earlier this week. Portions of the city are flooding with over 12 " of rain. It is the price we pay for having sunny skies for most of the year. My house can withstand the winds, but there is nothing to hold the water back, it would take a lot of sand bags around the perimeter. Take care and be extra careful if you have to drive. Maybe you should postpone your visit until the weather settles down.
