Hi ,

I was seeing a bio chemist a couple of years ago with an excellent

reputation for treating women with HRT. He gave me all the right hormones to

try and trick my body into being pregnant and it helped me with my MS. The

relapse took twice as long to come around as it usually did. The only reason

I stopped taking them was because it wreaked havoc on my skin and it was

quite embarrassing. I felt like a teenager with acne. I also stopped because

I was a bit nervous about mucking around with my hormones. I am still

desperately hoping for a cure to this awful disease so I can hopefully have

kids one day and be able to look after them. I can't remember the doses of

each of the hormones but I can find out if you're interested.

My gynecologist told me the other day that she has heard of HRT

helping women who have MS. I did an online search and found a small

study that had been done in England. Have any of you (women) had

experience with this or know anything about it?

Thank you.

Hey ,

I've been on a low dose birth control to help with the management of my MS.

I'm sure many women can relate when I say our MS Side effects are escalated

around our menstrual cycles

I am under the care of a HRT Specialists who claims to have some

success with about a dozen MS patients. He is the one who was

willing to give me my LDN script. (LOVE HIM!) In addition, he

started me on 100 mg x2 a day of Bio-Identical Progesterone (and was

very specific about manufacturer - was had to find a compounder to

fill the script).

I started the progesterone about 5 days before I started my LDN, so

can't say which solved what problem - but as most of you already

know - I am a pretty happy MS camper!!! My doctor is in Palm

Springs, California - and if anyone is interested, I would be

willing to provide his name / number if you email me direct.

I was new to MS, blind and pretty freaked out when I first visited

him, so did not absorb all he had to say - but found support for

what I did remember when I later did my own research on-line.

Hi,

I nursed my son for 4 years. My prolactin was thru the roof!! I had

no MS attacks and my bowels were great. When I switched neuro's she

said she couldn't prescribe my Copaxone till she got reports from my

previous neuro, because my exam was perfectly normal.

Fast-forward just 2 years and being pregnant again and actually having

attacks during my second preg.after I weaned my son, I am very

disabled. So, in my case hormones played a huge role. BTW, when I

nursed my daughter, my MS was also in perfect control. Unfortunately,

my daughter is allergic to all foods, even thru the breastmilk, so I

had to discontinue nursing her after 10 weeks, eating only 3 foods and

her vomiting constantly and having clots of black and red blood in her

stool. Still produced milk for another 5 months.

I had a supply for 6-8 babies, so my hormone levels were way beyond

normal. And, I did not menstruate for 3 yrs. after I had my son.
