Guest guest
If you are giving vaccines make sure to give Cod Liver oil a couple of weeks in advance to make sure their Vit A levels are up, and make sure they are not sick!!! No sniffles, diarehea ect! Make sure they don't give the ones that are NOT essential.... Hep B, chicken pox ect. Guest guest
Please know as well that you can get the MMR separately. Even Dr. Shaw recommends that you do vaccines, just do them one at a time and 6 months apart. My dad (a retired doctor) never liked the MMR when it came out, always did it separately, and back them they weren't given till much later. Knowing what I know now I wish I had gone over the vaccine schedule with him when my kids were born. He strongly recommended vaccines, so I vaccinated my kids. Now (with hind sight) I've talked about it with my dad and he was appalled to find out that kids are getting most vaccines by 18 months. A child doesn't even have their immune system in place till then, and assaulting it that early is dangerous. The medical community just goes by the "captive audience" for their vaccine schedule. I also believe breast feeding to be very important, but with mercury being stored in lipids, make sure you aren't trying to loose weight during breast feeding. Kirckmans carries mercury free cod liver oil. Congratulations on your expectant baby!!!!! Guest guest
Congratulations Loes! I too became pregnant only 12 months after being diagnosed with AIH . . . It was a complete surprise for us as well . . . Pregnancy tends to send AIH into a kind of remission--not the medical term I know, but that is kind of what happens. My gastroenterologist here in my hometown and my hep doctor at Duke University were almost involved in my pregnancy as my ob was!! I however was told to stop the prednisillone immediately and I did fine throughout the pregnancy. I did develop gestational diabetes in my third month however and then the pregnancy became a second job of " managing " my body and the baby's health. I had almost every prenatal test that one could imagine and everything was fine. I delivered a healthy 8 lb. 6oz. girl on October 25, 1998. She has continued to grow and flourish and be a tremendous blessing in our lives . . . Oh I forgot to mention that I was 39 when she was born!!! But also true to form, and as my doctors had warned me, the typical symptoms of AIH did return almost exactly 6 weeks after her birth. I did not return to the steroids though as I was breast-feeding. I am very lucky however that my AIH seems to be " in remission " now and I've had two years of normal LFTs and all other associated blood work. I wish you the very best and hope that you are able to REALLY enjoy carrying the baby and being a part of the miracle that is life!!! Guest guest
Hello everyone, I was late on my period by only 6 days, but still felt the need to take a test, and it was positive. I couldn't believe it!!! Went to the dr. on monday to have it confirmed. I certainly wasn't trying, but also I never thought I was going to be able to have kids, so it's a blessing! It's not like I'm 16 or anything - I'm 26 and am in a very loving relationship. My question is... my TSH went from 1.6 a month ago to 3.1. I know that's not too bad considering that I'm pregnant, but I read in a few places that anything above 1.5 gives increased risk of miscarriage. I'm going to the dr, but not until next friday, so I'm nervous, but there are many people with their eye on it. They also think I have a UTI, which I said probably not, but the nurse told me that preg people sometimes don't have symptoms, but I've had enough to know that I am in pain when I have them. Anyway, any advice would help - I'm kind of scared. I would love to hear some success stories of those of you that have been trough this. thanks for listening. - Boston _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com

My dh and I have been ttc for a year now.I have had 4 successful pregnancies but that was before being hypo.I believe that I was hyper before or during my last pregnancy (he is 6 1/2 now).It took about 8 mos to get pregnant with him but I didn't know anything about a thyroid then! Don't worry yourself too much with it,that's not good for you or the baby (I'm sure that you've been told that before!Sorry!) Do you have a good endo? Guest guest
e, I never had children because I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, IBS, and a lot of other symptoms at 32. Besides being on many prescriptions, I was concerned I would pass these things on to a child. Now I'm 47 and regret not having children. If you have time, I would try to get your Candida under control before conceiving not only for the baby's sake, but so you'll feel well to take care of it. I believe my mother had it when she got pregnant with me and I have had a lifetime of health problems. I think that this undiagnosed Candida problem is why so many babies are getting serious illnesses at a such a young age. Best wishes, Beth pregnant Hi, I have,i think because no doctor told me,candida. Can i have baby with this condition? Can I come back in few years in my real life? Thank to help me e
