Let us know if it works for you. Good Luck Arlene
Guest guest
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm going to try it! From: arlizotte@... [mailto:arlizotte@...] Sent: Thursday, August 05, 2004 10:41 AMlow dose naltrexone Subject: Re: [low dose naltrexone] Headaches & LDN (OT) et al and all interested: My husband has had migraines since he was young. He has a script for Imitrex injections. We have been on the Best Bet Diet for almost 2 years and we thought the elimination of dairy, sugar, lunch meats (nitrites and nitrates), chocolate and processed foods with MSG etc would take care of it. However, he still got them occasionally. They put him to bed, couldn't stand light or sound and the only thing that got rid of them was Imitrex. THEN, we read an old folk medicine book. It suggested doing an Apple Cider Vinegar/water steam inhalation. We tried that over the stove and then with a facial steamer ($20). He fills the measuring cup with about 3/4 water and 1/4 ACV. Breathes in the steam deeply about 75-80 times total. His eyes water, he says it's yucky, but it works and so he will do it. The first time he said it felt as though something inside his upper nostril and forehead was being eaten away. And the first time he had to do it for a couple of days. But he didn't get a headache for 2-3 months. He got a couple last week. I told him to do the ACV treatment which he wasn't crazy about doing. But he did only one day. Hasn't had a headache since. I don't know if this will work for everyone, but it does him. I also have my daughter's fiance do it, and it works for him. Sooo... it's a possiblity. I must warn you, it does smell, but that's a small price to pay if it works. The apple cider vinegar is not one you buy in the grocery store. I get it from a health food store. It is raw, unfiltered, unpasteurized, organic. It has a substance called the "Mother of Vinegar" in it, which is strand-like chains of connected protein molecules. This vinegar is also used for cooking and salad dressings, etc. The brand I use is Bragg. I think you can even buy it on the Internet. At lease you can read about it and its health benefits. If anyone has more questions,m or wants more info, please write and I'll try to help. Good luck Arlene
