Just remember to do your PT every day, whether you think it does any good or not. And keep on doing it after you've returned to work and things feel normal. Doing PT for the rest of your life is a good way to remain pain-free and keep your muscles strong so they can support you and your hip. > > You will have to adapt to some changes after your surgery, so be prepared and try to accept the changes as temporary obstacles on your way back to your normal life. > > I'm having a revision to my right THR in January, too. I'm also allergic to metals, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that the allergy doesn't affect the success of our surgeries. I'm told there are no conclusive studies out that show that a metal allergy adversely affects a THR from being successful. Good luck. > -NH >Best of luck in your Jan. surgery work. Hopefully metal allergy is not an issue with THR surgery. I know that in hip resurfacing it is an issue. Because both socket and ball are metal. I would probably go with resurfacing because I'm under 60, but the THR surgery is the tradional way.
