Guest guest
Last Thursday (6/14 ) I was at a Xolair meeting with a bunch of Nurses and a Pulmonologist who is a " Xolair Physician Speaker. " The doctor said that they have patients who are asthmatic and also suffer from C.F. on Xolair and it is doing wonders for them!!! She said that it is amazing to see how well those patients are doing! This drug continues to amaze me on how well it works for some but yet not for others. I've met people who are steroid intolerant and who have compromised immune systems who are seeing major postivie results in controlling their asthma, since going on Xolair. Yet we have others who come in here and say it isn't working for them and that they are giving up on Xolair. <----- How frustrating that must be! I sometimes feel a bit guilty that it has done so well for me. The quality of my life has improved so much that it boggles my mind sometimes. Today in " upstate NY " it's in the mid 90's and we have an Ozone allert for the elderly and people with respitory problems....and I feel fine! I was out twice to water my vegetable garden. I came in because I was to hot. NOT because I was having problems breathing, like I would have been two years ago! At the end of August I will reach my 100 shot marker!!! Sounds like I'm right behing you Doug!! K
Guest guest
So glad others are getting something out of Xolair although I am definitely NOT one of them at this point! I recently went up to 375 mgs every 2 weeks. That's 13 shots or 6 treatments so far. No benefit, but that was only a week ago that I got the increased dosage. Still hiding out in air conditioning costing $400 a month w/headaches and sinus pressure. But, the thing that's driving me crazy is the arthritis and sciatica - feels like someone is pounding a nail in my hip. Xolair IS associated w/arthralgia - I had it before Xolair and it's gotten worse since. My blood pressure is high because I don't like the pcp doctor or the way I'm being treated. I've seen ghastly results in my hubby from bp meds because docs were too lazy for years to find out he had a serious underlying disease. The doc gave me bp med I will not take so he refuses to give me celebrex and told me to find another doctor if I don't trust him. If I change pcps then I will not be able to receive Xolair or see my pulmo. At best the process would have to be started all over again. Darn these doctors and insurance companies. Scam, I would say. One size does NOT fit all. --------------------------------- It's here! Your new message! Get new email alerts with the free Toolbar.
