Guest guest
Hi Alan, The title of your subject describes how I have felt throughout this entire process. There are always some bad days in there. Don't be discouraged. You're doing everything right and certainly more disciplined than I am. Perhaps you did too much. I kind of goofed off last week. And yet when I went to PT, I went from 122 to 130. Who knows why. I went back to a stronger med. And if I was disciplined about anything, it was about the ice wraps. It may have had nothing to do with you, but the weather. You have been such a source of inspiration through this. Don't beat yourself up. Perhaps even go a little easier on your exercises this week. Let us know how it goes. Since I'm just a few weeks ahead of you in this recovery process, I'm so interested to hear how you are doing. Hey, I saw the last half of an interview with Joe Namath (American football star) on 60 minutes. I thought he was walking a bit funny. Then at the end, the his new knees were mentioned. Wonder if he had them both done at the same time like we did and when he had it done? Warm regards, Donnambwebman <mbwebman@...> wrote: Hi All,I seem to have it an impasse. I'm going backwards right now. I'mlosing flexation instead of gaining it. Maybe I'm doing to much orcutting back my meds too quickly. Either way I am not looking forwardto PT tomorrow. They want 130 degrees by 12 weeks and this startsweek 9 and I'm still at 115. Guest guest
Hi Donna, Well you are partially right. I was at a friend's 50th birthday party on Saturday. That meant 1-hour drive for me and 6-hours of sitting and standing without extending or raising my legs. Today I went to PT early and hit the bike 1st before my PT started on me. I did 110 & 113 without his assistance so I'm not too bad. However he measured my swelling as back to week #5 so that not too good. He wasn't too displeased with my current status so I'm not too upset. I guess we all get a little depressed being stuck at home for so long and still fighting the pain even after TKR. It's good to have others in the same boat to comiserate with. But on a positive note, I'm still on schedule for going back to work in Mid to Late December. Keep plugging everyone. Thanks Donna! Guest guest
Alan, Gosh, you were living it up. No wonder you had a little setback. But how often do you celebrate a good friend's 50th birthday. Just the fact that you could put in a great day like shows how far you've come. Even if you paid for it a bit. I did the same thing two weekends in a row. I went to lunch and then shoppped for two hours on crutches. Then I went through a one-acre maze with my grandchildren, again on crutches. I couldn't help myself, those kids give me shot a shot of energy. And, oh yeah, I was still on a more powerful pain med at the time. That's when I learned meds could give you a false sense of well-being. Oh, I'd love not to be at work. Enjoy your time. How often in your life will you have this time free to read and rest and do your Chritmas shopping online? Besides, you might not have time to write those very helpful postings at this site. By the way, everyone told me I looked ten years younger when I returned to work. Now I'm not hearing that. I think the stress lines of work are back in my face. :-) Warm regards, Donna > > Hi All, > > > > I seem to have it an impasse. I'm going backwards right now.
