Guest guest
Hi All, Today I took my daughter Cheyenne to her lung specialist appointment and found that her normal doctor is on 2 months leave so we had no choice but to see this new specialist whom I found rather interesting and I use the term rather loosely. During the visit I bought up the topic of Xolair, too which she stated that it is difficult to get hold of here in Australia but they can get it at the hospital that we go to and the cost would be about $60.00 for each tablet and Cheyenne would require 2 tablets every week and its not on the public list for drugs but they are fighting hard for it. Now I'm not sure if maybe this specialist and I were talking about the same drug or not because all the research I have done it only shows injection forms of the drug, but then again I could be wrong. So what I'm basically asking is does anyone know of Xolair being made as a tablet because I don't know of anyone who would willingly have an injection if a tablet is available, or maybe I should just wait till Cheyennes normal specialist gets back and then bring Xolair up again. Mind you this same specialist told Cheyenne after we bought the Xolair subject that she doubted that Cheyenne has asthma and has put her on 50mg of Prednisolone for a month and feels that maybe she should be put back onto Theophylline for her asthma!!! so go figure cause I'm lost. Guest guest
Unfortunately, Xolair comes only in injection form. Don't know what the doctor you saw was thinking of but it's not Xolair. Your plan to wait til your daughter's usual doc returns is a good one. Guest guest
It is important for everyone to remember the following statement: chlorambucil, fludarabine plus rituximab (FR), fludarabine plus cyclophosphamide plus rituximab (FCR), bendamustine, and alemtuzumab are all acceptable therapies for patients with CLL. The best therapy for each individual will depend upon what suits their needs best. This is the importance of " tailoring therapy to the individual " .
